Epic Day Hexagon Scrapbook Page

I had the Epic Day class today and it was so much fun! I'll share pictures of the event tomorrow - including some new cards.

Right now, though, I have some scrapbook pages to share. These were out as a sample of pages that people could copy.

These won't stay this way - I pretty much just took the pictures off my other pages so I could show a completed sample. It was easy to do since I used Epic Day Washi Tape to adhere the pictures. Since the pictures are in a different order, I put a long strip of washi tape over part of the caption (since it was no longer correct with the new arrangement).

You'll see I moved the interior hexagons a bit. When I added the pictures, it just seemed better this way. I tucked some of the pictures under the hexagons.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see more Epic Day samples and pictures from today's event.

Papaya Collage Bookmarks

We made bookmarks at the Relay For Life fundraiser back in April. I put out some samples, which are shown below, and then the stampers could either copy mine or create their own design. I waited to post these because I was trying to get pictures of some of the other designs (which would have been super easy if I'd thought to take pictures at the class). Since I've been unable to get them, I decided to just show you my bookmarks.

The main stamp set I used is Papaya Collage (retired - sold out). I used Designer Typeset (no longer available) for the letter on the middle bookmark. And the butterflies are from Papillon Potpourri.

Hope I've inspired you to use your Scallop Tag Topper Punch to make some bookmarks of your own. Happy Stampin'!

TSSC 314 Perfect Pennants

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. It is note card size (3.5" x 5") and features the Stampin' Up! stamp set, Perfect Pennants.  The set is available in a bundle, with the Banner Framelits. You save 15% when purchasing the bundle instead of the individual products.

I sponged all of the Whisper White cardstock pieces (even the card base) with Daffodil Delight and Pool Party ink so it would blend in a little more with the DSP. I used the Banner Punch for the banner along the bottom. To get the longer banner, I just fed it in through the top. I sanded the Pool Party Core'Dinations, which helped it match the look of the card.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Perfect Pennants, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pool Party Core'Dinations
Ink: Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Epic Day
Big Shot: Banner Framelits
Ribbon: Daffodil Delight Seam Binding
Punch:  Banner Punch

 Here's this week's sketch.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. If you haven't been there yet, be sure to check out the design team samples here .  This is also where you can link your project.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of the awesome mothers in the world! I've had a great day with my family and hope you have, too :)

This was my Mother's Day card this year. A special occasion like Mother's Day deserves a special card!

I posted this before, so if you want details, look here.

Epic Day Scrapbook pages

I like this two page spread because you can flip it around for a different look. I photographed the pages a little apart because they'll be separate in a book, but if you have them together, they make one continuous design.

Here's the way I originally designed the page. It was easy with my Simply Scored Tool and the Diagonal Plate.

I really like the color combination of this sheet of Epic Day Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Basic Gray. The accent strip is Smoky Slate.

These pages won't stay this way, but I wanted to show you a completed sample. I particularly liked using the Epic Day Washi Tape to hold down the pictures and title. The colors coordinate with the page and I think it adds to the look. The Washi Tape is even quicker than using SNAIL. Another bonus of the Washi Tape is that items on the page can easily be rearranged. A good option when I'm afraid more pictures from an event or trip might turn up.

I made the happy discovery that the pages can be switched for a coordinating look.

If  you are coming to the 5/17 class, you can make this layout - and lots of other stuff :)

Pure Gumption and Epic Day Graduation Card

NOTE: You can make this card in the class on 5/17. RSVP ASAP. Thanks!

This graduation card has a lot happening. First, is the message and the graduation cap, from the stamp set Pure Gumption. Next, the background. Hexagons are hot right now. And maps seem perfect for graduation cards since the graduate is just starting out on life's adventures. I know the map is kind of hard to see in the pictures, but it's there as part of the Epic Day DSP background.

I made two variations. There's not a lot of difference, but I thought I'd show you both so you can see.

Here's the inside of the card. I used the stamp sets, Congrats, Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Pure Gumption.

Weekly Deals - May 6

NEW OPTIONS! - I've added a scrapbook option to the 5/17 class (details here). So, you can get a pack of supplies tailored more towards scrapbooking or card making. But, since you'll be choosing your own projects, you aren't limited to one or the other. You can also throw in some 3-d items, if you want. Sign up by 5/8 at noon so I can get supplies ordered. This is going to be a fun class where you'll go home with lots of completed projects.

Once again, some great items on the Weekly Deals list!

The I Am Me Designer Series Paper is so cute! I love the sheet with cameras on it. And the page that's a map would be great for scrapbooking (so would the camera one, for that matter). The back of the map page is covered with multi-colored polka dots, so card makers are covered, too.

Here is a card I made with the Hearts A Flutter Stamps, which have a matching set of framelits.

You can order online (please use hostess code CJ2CNWSF to receive a free thank you gift from me) or contact me to be part of a group order.

Okay, I'm gonna let a little of my nerdy side shine through -- Happy Star Wars Day!! In honor of the holiday, I played around in My Digital Studio (MDS) and made R2D2. I think he turned out kind of cute. May the force be with you!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Today is National Scrapbooking Day, so I made some scrapbook pages. I only got one photographed before it got too late so I'll have to share more later in the week.

This Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from Epic Day. They are kind of hard to see in these photos, but the background is a bunch of words. They say things like courageous, happy, insightful, honest, bold, strong, delightful, independent... The words made me think of my daughters, so I had to make a scrapbook page with them on it.

The title and the words along the left side are from the retiring set, Loving Thoughts. I tried to leave lots of space so I didn't cover the words on the DSP. Instead of making a tag with the date on it, I used the Remember This Rotary Stamp to stamp, "This happened on..." Because of the way the rotary stamp works, I was able to set the date to day these pictures were taken.

This photo was taken at an angle to make my girls look even taller than they are! :) Actually, I thought it would show how I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the title and the other word stamp between the Pool Party and River Rock layers. I also popped up the starburst.
I love this stamp from Starburst sayings - You make the world a better place. It definitely applies to my girls. I also love that there are matching framelits so I can use the Big Shot to cut it out.
It's kind of blurry, but this is the little piece above the date. The stamp is from the retired Sale-a-Bration set, Sprinkled Expressions, and says - Love you just the way you are. This close-up shows how I used my distressing tool to distress the edges.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hope you got a change to do some scrapping today!

Yesterday I said to stop back today to see a card made with my new stamp set. I am sorry, but I was unable to stamp tonight as planned, so I didn't get the card made. I will still share a card made with Work of Art, just not the one I had planned. It's from the Catalog Premiere.  I have uploaded a bunch of Catalog Premiere pictures to my facebook page. Stampin' Up! Catalog Premiere

Monday night, for the first time ever, Stampin' Up! had a red carpet Catalog Premiere. The live event, which was held in Long Beach, CA, was telecast at theaters throughout the country. One of them was in Raleigh, and I got to go!
Here I am with Karel, Debbie, and Pat from the Wagstampers team. At the end of the event we got our own copy of the new catalog and a stamp set. I'm holding the catalog and Pat is showing the stamp set we received.
My fun actually started before the Premiere. I belong to a group called NC SU Demos and a group of us met for dinner.
The Premiere began with Shelli addressing everyone, talking about the new catalog, and then doing a demonstration for us. In the foreground you can see some of the demos who were in front of me in the theater. The place was packed!
The rest of the evening was spent with a variety of presenters sharing all kinds of stuff from the new catalog. We saw lots of samples, including this cute little baby bag.
One of the new products being introduced is Blendabilities. This flower (a new single stamp) was colored with them. Very cool!

I really enjoyed getting to meet the other demonstrators and the Premiere was lots of fun and energy filled. So glad I went! I have more pictures, but it's getting late so I'm going to wrap up. Hope you enjoyed getting a little sneak peek.

Check back tomorrow to see a card made with my new stamp set.

EDIT 5/1/14: I have uploaded the rest of my Catalog Premiere pictures to my facebook page. You can see them here. Are you getting as excited about the new products from Stampin' Up! as I am? Leave me a comment and let me know.
