Picture Perfect Starfish

I love this starfish from the Picture Perfect stamp set. I can't believe this cool set is retiring. In addition to the starfish, there are some awesome sentiments, a hummingbird, and a rose. The images are 2, 3, or even 4 step stamping which leads to some great detail.

See what I mean about the sentiments? This one is "dream without fear, love without limits." Another one is "you are made of wonderful."

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from last year's Sale-a-Bration. I have a couple packs available if you're interested. Just let me know. Otherwise, you could substitute a different DSP. There's a swirly blue in Cupcakes & Carousels that might work. Or maybe one of the patterns in the DSP paper stacks or envelope papers. Of course, By the Shore DSP would have several good options. Be sure to check out the retiring list so you can get these DSPs and this great stamp set before they are gone.

Today is the last day to enter the prize drawing. Leave a comment on my blog or my facebook page to enter. You can enter both places. If you receive this blog post by email, you'll have to go to my blog to be able to comment.

Happy Easter - Window Box Style

HAPPY EASTER!

Today I have two projects I designed using the Window Box thinlits. We made the card last month in club. The basket is part of a die cut from the Window Box thinlints, basically half of the hexagon. The handle was cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits. The grass was cut using the retiring Fringe Scissors. The eggs were cut using a die from the retiring Pyramid Pals thinlits.

Happy Easter is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and is punched out with the Duet Banner punch. These two items are available in a bundle, which gives 10% savings over buying the items separately, but only until the catalog ends. Then the items will only be available to purchase separately.

Here is a basket I made with the Window Box thinlits. In addition to half of the hexagon, I also left on some of the flaps and extra parts. I used part of two die cuts which are cut down and then folded into the basket shape. The handle is just a 1/2 inch strip of cardstock. The grass in the basket was made with the retiring Fringe Scissors. This is a prototype I made about a month ago (hence the retired color cardstock). Originally I had planned to add a tag and maybe soem flowers ont he front, but I think it looks cute like this, too.

The Window Box framelits are currently available in a bundle with the Window Shopping stamp set. The framelits will still be available in the new catalog, but they'll no longer be available as a bundle.

Pyramind Pals Carrot

Here's a cute little carrot made using the Pyramid Pals Framelits. The lines are from a stamp in the Playful Pals set. The carrot top is a 3/4" strip of cardstock cut with the fringe scissors and then rolled up. All three of these great items are on the Retiring List, so if you don't have them, be sure to get them before they are gone.

I didn't put adhesive on two flaps so that the box can be opened. You can see where the stem is inserted in the top. I just used my paper piercing tool to make a hole and then gently widened it until the stem could be eased into it.

I got this cute idea from Nicole Tugrul, a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Soon To Be Gone...

Here are a couple of cards that highlight some of the retiring items:

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) already retired last year, but you could use one of this year's pretty DSPs. Maybe the retiring Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper which is only $6.60 at 40% off.

The fancy flower border on both cards and the flower and leaves in the bottom card are cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits (50% off, only $16.50). Both the Elegent Butterfly punch and the Bitty Butterfly punch are retiring. Basic Pearls (sold out) and Basic Rhinestones (50% off, $2.50) are on the retiring list, as is the Project Life Corner punch (used on the sentiment and its mat). I believe the embossing folder used on the small butterfly in the top card is also retiring.

The stamp set the sentiment came from has currently slipped my mind. I feel like it's there, but just out of reach. I tried to do some Internet searching, but no luck. Can you name the set? If so, please leave a comment to let me know.

EDIT: Thanks to Karen O'Connell for her comment. The sentiment comes from Rose Wonder.

Retiring List

The retiring list has been announced. Stamps are guaranteed available through May 22. Other items on the list are while supplies last so don't wait to order what you want. They all retire May 31 and will no longer be available after that. Some items are discounted up to 50% off!

You can see the retiring list in pdf form here.

Or, go to the Online Store and check out the items there.

Some of the bundles are on this list because bundle pricing will no longer be available, but the items that make up the bundle are not retiring.

There are some real surprises on this list. What items surprised you or will you miss the most?

I was surprised by Botanical Blooms and the coordinating Botanical Builder Framelits - but they are discounted, so that's good for anyone who hasn't already gotten them. I also hate seeing so many dies and embossing folders go, as well as the two butterfly punches. Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies and Party With Cake stamps will also be missed. And those are just off the top of my head.

Remember to leave your comment on this post about which item(s) you're going to miss most.

Everyone who comments will get an entry in the prize drawing that will happen 4/30. If you get this post by email, you have to go to the actual blog post to leave the comment. You can also comment on my facebook page for another entry.
