Sprinkles of LIfe Gift Card Holder

We made this in club this past week. We used the diagonal score board to make the outer envelope. It's perfectly sized to hold a gift card. I like the idea of presenting it like this. I think it looks pretty.

Here's the insert. The cupcake top is popped up. The top of the tag is punched with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. The cupcake top is punched with the Tree Builder punch.
You could also close it up to give. If you slide the band up like this, the envelope flap will tuck under the band. The tag is on the opposite side of the envelope than if I was presenting it open like above.
Stamps: Sprinkles of Life.

DSP is retired Moonlight pack. If you missed it, I have some available for sale. I also have some of the retired ribbon available as part of a ribbon share (2 yds ea of each of the 5 in colors). Let me know and I'll hook you up.

Easter Treats - For Peeps' Sake

There's been a change to the TSSC: Mary Jo just announced that the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge is no longer going to be weekly. She's noticed that people tend to participate every other week, so the new schedule will reflect that. Look for new TSSC posts the first and third Monday of each month. You can continue checking my blog each Monday because on the off weeks I'll post something else for you to enjoy.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of helping host a North Carolina Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's quarterly meeting. One of the activities at these meetings is a shoebox swap. I made this project, which was designed by Marcia Enns. Isn't it adorable?

There's a Reese's candy egg tucked inside.

Supplies:

Stamp: For Peeps' Sake
Punches: Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Boho Blossoms (feet), scallop circle (cut in half for wings), circles (for eyes)
Big Shot: Fancy Fan embossing folder, Handpicked framelits
Tools: Fringe Scissors

Here's the back:

For Peeps' Sake stamp set has a little row of eggs and they are stamped on the bottom as a finishing touch.

TSSC 355 - Butterfly Basics

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I used the Stampin' Up! set, Butterfly Basics, which is in the Occasions Catalog. There are coordinating framelits, which are available with the stamp set as a bundle. Although the framelits are really cool, I didn't use them on this card because the stamp I chose matches the Bitty Butterfly punch.

Supplies:
Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi
Punches: Bitty Butterfly, Scallop Tag Topper
Big Shot: Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you!
You can link your project and see the rest of the design team samples at the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge site. Hope you'll play along this week!

SAB Product of the Week - Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP

Get this beautiful Specialty DSP FREE with $50 purchase (before shipping and tax) through March 31, 2015! Shop here. Current Hostess Code: JKWWAVAW
Last week at Stamp Club I showed the Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP. I think the white on white is beautiful for elegant projects, like wedding cards or favors. Then I tried to explain how you could color the DSP and when you wipe off the ink, the glossy parts are white again. My explanation wasn't very clear, so I was thrilled when I saw this post on the Stampin' Up! blog:

Fun Packaging - Gift Box Punch Board

The Gift Box Punch Board is so much fun! We made the red and green Christmas box in stamp club last week. The Marina Mist one is made the same way, but with different colors. And fantastic news - the Gift Box Punch Board is 30% off tomorrow (Monday, 10/24). Only $13.96! It's a one day door buster, so don't miss it!

I didn't use adhesive on this box, so when you open it, it's like an explosion box, which is kind of fun.

Above: view of the tag
Below: side view of the box
Here's the Marina Mist box from the top. The tag on this one is a little smaller than on the other box.
Here's a side view. I attached the side flaps on the outside on this box. It kind of looks like the sides of a take out box.
Lots of colors of chevron ribbon, including Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist used on these boxes, are half off (yes, 50%!!) during the Online Extravaganza (11/24 to 12/01/14). The 1/8" Silver Ribbon is not on sale, but the gold one is half off.

Stamp set used is Endless Wishes. It's a fantastic set. Love that font and the way you can mix and match words and phrases. The snowflakes are also part of the set. I used the gold sequins on the tag on the top box, but I didn't think they'd go as well with the Marina Mist.

Be sure to check out the Online Extravaganza page. There are lots and lots of great products on sale!

Papaya Collage Bookmarks

We made bookmarks at the Relay For Life fundraiser back in April. I put out some samples, which are shown below, and then the stampers could either copy mine or create their own design. I waited to post these because I was trying to get pictures of some of the other designs (which would have been super easy if I'd thought to take pictures at the class). Since I've been unable to get them, I decided to just show you my bookmarks.

The main stamp set I used is Papaya Collage (retired - sold out). I used Designer Typeset (no longer available) for the letter on the middle bookmark. And the butterflies are from Papillon Potpourri.

Hope I've inspired you to use your Scallop Tag Topper Punch to make some bookmarks of your own. Happy Stampin'!

You're Lovely Bookmark Card

BLOG CANDY:  Win Reason to Smile by interacting on my social media.  See details here.  No limit to the number of entries!

Stamp Club met Tuesday night and Wednesday morning this week.  As always, we had a great time!  If you are in the Garner/Southern Wake County area of North Carolina, you should join us for a class sometime.  We'd love to meet you!

When we made bookmarks at my recent Open House, one of the stampers asked if we could make a card with a removable bookmark.  This is what I designed.  It was the first of three projects we made.

Shown below is the bookmark.  In class I recommended to stamp lightly so that the Primrose Petals was not quite as dark as on my bookmark.  That way more of the flower stamp showed.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Happy Watercolor, You're Lovely (FREE during Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock:  Primrose Petals, Midnights Muse, Gumball Green, Whisper White
Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green
Big Shot:  Deco Labels Framelits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (FREE during SAB)
Other:  Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (on Weekly Deals list through 3/3), Corner Rounder Punch

I picked these colors for the class projects because many of the stampers took advantage of the My Paper Pumpkin (MPP) Promotion and got this In Color set of markers for FREE.  The MPP promotion ends March 31, 2014.  When you sign up, please select me (Sue Root, Raleigh, NC) as your demonstrator.  Thank you!

Happy Watercolor Bookmark and Tag.

Here are the make-and-takes from Saturday's Open House.  Everyone enjoyed the projects and had a great time!

Both tags use the new stamp set, Happy Watercolor, which is available in the 2014 Occasions catalog.   We actually made a modified version of this tag.  The first thing I thought of when I saw the Scallop Tag Topper Punch was that it would make great bookmarks.  The ones we made at the Open House were actually a little longer, so they'll stay in the book better.  We also added some dots at the bottom (you can see that stamp in the tag below - the Pool Party dots).  I like both versions.

I have to admit - at first I was wondering what to do with the "blob" as my stampers and I were calling it.  But after I started playing with it, I decided it adds a really cool look.  Stampin' Up! has a magazine for demonstrators and I saw a tag in there that I liked.  I modified it a little and this is the result:

Once I started playing with this set, I had a hard time stopping.  That's the way it should be, right?  So be on the lookout for more samples made with this awesome set.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Open House!  I always have so much fun with you guys!!  If you are local, come to an event sometime.  My group of stampers is the best!  So, you'll get to stamp, learn something new, and meet some wonderful people.  Win, win, win!
