St. Patrick's Day Projects

Here are a couple of St. Patrick's Day projects for your enjoyment.

For the card, I used the Blossom Builder punch to make the 4 leaf clover. The vein down the center was added using my bone folder and the stem was cut freehand. I built it on a layer of Whisper White cardstock that was layered on Emerald Envy. I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch and stamped Lucky You from the And Many More Set.

I put the clover tag on a layer of Emerald Envy striped DSP from the  2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack which was put on a Whisper White base. Then I added some Gold Sequins. Think of them as gold pieces that fell out of the leprechaun's pot.

And Many More is (sadly) retired. It's a great set with some versatile sentiments. If you missed it the first time around, I have a set available for purchase. Contact me if you're interested.

For the second project, I added a banner of the striped DSP behind the clover tag and added it to a test tube from the Something Good To Eat Paper Pumpkin kit. Thoughtful Branches Halloween or Fall Card

We made this card in stamp club last month. I CASEd it from Kim Jolley after I saw her card on Pinterest. Speaking of stamp club - a new round starts this month. Let me know if you'd like to join. You can see the other cards we made using this bundle here.

The pumpkin is made using the same die cut that made the flower on the card I showed you previously. It can also be the leaves on the top of a tree. The background is embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder and then lightly sponged to highlight the trees. Although I added Happy Halloween, it could easily be a Fall card, as well - or birthday, thanks, or other occasion for that matter. Just change the words on the banner.

Here's the inside. Makes me want to run and jump into a big pile of leaves.

Open Sea Best Dad Ever

These cards feature some of my favorite masculine sets, the versatile sentiment set And Many More, and the all around useful set Timeless Textures. We will make the top one in the May class. There's room if you'd like to join us.

Stamps on the front are from And Many More and Open Sea. The decorative lines in the corners are made with the Diagonal Score Board. I turned down one corner as if the ship's log had endured a hard life at sea, but it could also be taped down if that's more your style. The sponging also helps with that aged look. It's hard to see in the picture, but I added Dazzling Details to make the water sparkle.

 This sweet inside sentiment comes from Guy Greetings, a must have set if you have important men in your life. The "sea water" along the bottom is made with a stamp from Timeless Textures.

St. Patrick's Day Card

We'll make this St. Patrick's Day card at my upcoming classes (Feb. 23 and Feb. 27). You can see information about upcoming events here.

The shamrock, or more appropriately four leaf clover, was made with the Pansy Punch, which just happens to be on the Weekly Deals this week. Through Monday, get this punch for only $12 (reg $16). I just snipped away most of the 5th petal and left just enough to make a stem.

NC SU Demos Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be part of the NC SU Demos Blog Hop! Follow through the blogs to see lots of great ideas using Sale-a-Bration (SAB) items. I have two projects for you today using the SAB items Flowering Fields stamp set and the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) Wildflower Fields.

The first project is a center step card. In addition to the featured SAB items, I used the stamp set And Many More, which is so versatile. Several other sentiments in that set could be substituted for the one I used and the card would be good for a different occasion. The sentiment was die cut using my Big Shot and the banner from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. The bow was made with the Bow Builder Punch. I used my Stampin' Write marker to add the grasss.

Did you notice how the butterflies on the front are lightly colored? I used clear Wink of Stella on them. It blended the ink a little and added some sparkle. I couldn't get the sparkle to show in my pictures, but trust me, it is very cool!

 Here's the inside of the card. The sentiments, like the one on the front, are from And Many More. The flowers are the same ones, from Flowering Fields, as used on the front of the card.

Here's the second project I made. It's a note holder with a chipboard coaster as it's base. I cut the DSP to the size of the coaster and then used the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, which matched perfectly.  The flowers on the left are a decoration and on the right is a 2x3 pad of Post-It notes. I fabricated an easel back and attached it to the back of the coaster so I can stand it up on my desk.

I covered the clothespin with DSP to make it look pretty. I also lightly sponged around the clothespin with Calypso Coral ink. Wonder why I added it? So I can pin notes to my holder. It grabs my attention because it looks different and when I don't need the note any more, I pull it off and the pretty flowers are back.

By the way, the clothespins are on the Weekly Deals list through tomorrow night.

Junior Legal Pads

A fellow NC Demo, Denise James, generously gave me a covered junior legal pad that she made for a swap. I thought it was really cool, so I decided to make some of my own. Sorry about the photo quality - but if I wait until I get better pictures it could be a while (which is also why there isn't one of Denise's). I figure it's better to share what I have. I made three styles:

 The butterfly ones use the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. The butterflies were cut with the retired Beautiful Butterflies die and the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The big butterflies were also embossed. Just because is from And Many More. The background on the leaf one was stamped with Vintage Leaves. The letters are from Larger Than Life Alphabet and cut with the Circles Framelits. 

Here's the inside of the flower/butterfly ones. The clips were cut out with my Big Shot and the Project Life Paper Clip Thinlits.

 Here's the inside of the leaf one. The saying is from Lighthearted Leaves. The leaf was cut out with my Big Shot and the Leaflets framelits.

Vintage Leaves Card

Here's the third project from my upcoming classes. I used the Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets Framelits, which are available in a bundle.  I just love bundles, don't you?

The sentiment is from the set And Many More. Ribbon is Hello Honey 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon. All items used on this card can be found in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog or online.
