More Hey Chick Cards

Here are a couple more cards using the set Hey Chick, which I got for free as part of Sale-a-Bration (SAB) when I made a $50 purchase. Ends 3/31.

I used the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on both cards so the background looked like chicken wire. On the top card, I sponged lightly over the raised parts of the embossed image. Cardstock colors: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Whisper White. I used the Memento Ink pad and Tangerine Tango Classic stamp pad and Stampin' Write marker.

Cardstock colors: Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, and Whisper White. I used the Memento Ink pad and Island Indigo Classic stamp pad. The chicken was colored using the Aqua Pen with some Island Indigo and Tangerine Tango ink.

If you want to get this cute set for FREE, make a $50 purchase by 3/31. You can shop online at my online store. If your order is not $150, please use hostess code C929U36A. You'll get a free gift from me if you do. If it is $150 or over, collect the hostess benefits for yourself.

Hey Chick

This chicken makes me laugh -- which I'm pretty sure is a common reaction. This is one of the cards from my March class. The stamps are from the set, Hey Chick, which you can get for free with a $50 purchase. Hurry though, because Sale-a-Bration (SAB) ends 3/31. I picked the Designer Series Paper because it reminds me of chicken wire.

Oops! Looks like I need to make a little correction on the inside. Do you see the error? I missed one of the egg legs when I was coloring. Easy enough to fix. I'm just glad I noticed it before I sent it to a friend.
Supplies:

Stamps: Hey Chick
Ink: Island Indigo, Memento Black Ink
Stampin' Write Markers: Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Moroccan
Check back tomorrow for more cards using this cute set.

Bring on Spring - March NC SU Demos Blog Hop

Welcome to the March NC Demos Blog Hop. It's been a while since I've been able to participate, but I'm glad to be back. This month's theme is Bring On Spring. I hope you are enjoying this month's posts and getting lots ideas for your own fabulous spring projects.

This is one of the projects from my March class. We had a great group here Saturday morning and I'll be doing it again Tuesday evening. If you live in the Raleigh/Garner/Fuquay-Varina/Clayton area, contact me if you'd like to come make this and two other fun cards.

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I periodically get a magazine called Stampin' Success, which is full of great ideas and information. This card was CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from a card in that magazine. Ironically, the article was on CASE-ing. I didn't copy the card exactly, but it is similar.

If you would like to enjoy the benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, including getting Stampin' Success, contact me for more details. It's a great way to save on your crafting supplies, makes a little extra cash, or earn some serious money, depending how much effort you want to put into it. I'd love to have you on my team! And, during Sale-a-Bration, choose 2 free sets as part of your starter kit! Ends 3/31.

Here's the inside of the card. I think carrying a little bit of the design to the inside of the card adds a little something extra.  The leaves look tucked behind the flower petals because I used the masking technique (stamped and cut out petals and layered them over the already stamped petals on the card so when I stamped the leaves they didn't stamp where the cut petals were; then I removed the cut petals).

Supplies:

Stamps: Bunch of Blossoms
Ink: Early Espresso, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, Wild Wasabi
Cardstock:Pool Party, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP):  In Color DSP Stack
Punch: Blossom Builder
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, Whisper White Baker's Twine (retired, but now available as Thick Baker's Twine).

I hope you enjoyed today's project. While it's fun to come up with your own designs, sometimes it's good to CASE -- maybe the ideas just aren't flowing, maybe you need a quick idea, or maybe you just like something you see. You can copy the design exactly or use it as a starting point and change it up to make it your own.

As you travel through the rest of the blog hop, you'll find lots of ideas worth CASE-ing. We share our ideas to inspire others so it's nice to get feedback. Please leave comments as you cycle through. Leave a comment on any post on my blog or facebook page and be entered into a drawing for blog candy. Drawing will be held 4/30.

Next Blog

Thanks for stopping by today. You'll head on to Lisa Tedder's blog next. I've included the list of all blog hop participants below.

St. Patrick's Day Projects

Here are a couple of St. Patrick's Day projects for your enjoyment.
For the card, I used the Blossom Builder punch to make the 4 leaf clover. The vein down the center was added using my bone folder and the stem was cut freehand. I built it on a layer of Whisper White cardstock that was layered on Emerald Envy. I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Punch and stamped Lucky You from the And Many More Set.

I put the clover tag on a layer of Emerald Envy striped DSP from the  2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack which was put on a Whisper White base. Then I added some Gold Sequins. Think of them as gold pieces that fell out of the leprechaun's pot.

And Many More is (sadly) retired. It's a great set with some versatile sentiments. If you missed it the first time around, I have a set available for purchase. Contact me if you're interested.

For the second project, I added a banner of the striped DSP behind the clover tag and added it to a test tube from the Something Good To Eat Paper Pumpkin kit. This was such a great kit and if you didn't get it when it originally shipped, the full kit and refill packs are still available. Fill with some green or white candy or another treat of your choice.

If you want any of the supplies used on today's projects, or any other Stampin' Up! supplies, please head over to my Online Store to place an order (just click the Shop Now button once you're there). Use hostess code 97JUXMPA before Friday afternoon and receive a free gift from me. Remember that during Sale-a-Bration (SAB), you also get a free item with each $50 purchase (ends 3/31). You can see the choices here and a few newer offerings here. There are some wonderful options that you're really going to want once you see them.

As I mentioned, the test tube is from a Paper Pumpkin kit. During SAB, Paper Pumpkin is also on sale. 3-Month Prepaid Subscription (137859)
$59$55 USD. Get a discount on 3-month prepaid subscriptions and instantly qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item! Win-win!

High Tide Sympathy Card

This is one of the cards we'll be making at the upcoming Thinking of You and Sympathy Stamp-a-Stack. I've added a second session on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30pm. The other is Saturday, March 11 at 10:00am. You can see all the details here.

This is kind of a non-traditional card using High Tide. I chose to make a beach scene without the lighthouse. I think the lighthouse is great, but wanted to show you that this set isn't limited to that.

Because the sentiment is from the must have set Teeny Tiny Wishes, you can select a different stamp from this set and change the type of card - birthday, thinking of you, thank you...anything that's in the set will fit.

Stamps: High Tide, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Pool Party, So Saffron, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Pool Party, Whisper White

By the way, I'm sure you know this, but the card actually is cut straight with the top layer straight, too. It just the photography that's off. That's pretty much the case with any card on this blog that looks a little off kilter. Sorry about that. Obviously I shouldn't quit my day job to be a photographer!
