St. Patrick's Day Card

We'll make this St. Patrick's Day card at my upcoming classes (Feb. 23 and Feb. 27). You can see information about upcoming events here.

The shamrock, or more appropriately four leaf clover, was made with the Pansy Punch, which just happens to be on the Weekly Deals this week. Through Monday, get this punch for only $12 (reg $16). I just snipped away most of the 5th petal and left just enough to make a stem.

My First Card In A Box

I've wanted to make a Card in a Box for a while and I finally got the chance. I think it turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself. You can make this card next week at one of the two classes I'll be having.

TSSC 307 Flower Sympathy Card

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I have to confess that I've become spoiled. I love having a punch or framelit to cut out my images. Having the matching punches made this card a breeze.

This is a sympathy card with another stamp from Blessings From Heaven on the inside. That one says: May your memories bring you peace.  Under that stamp I added a sympathy stamp. The one I used is retired, but the Stampin' Up! set, Love and Sympathy, has a pretty one that simply says, "Sending Love and Sympathy."

Happy 50th Anniversary!

Today is my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary.  What an amazing accomplishment!  Congratulations to them both.  I hope they have a wonderful day!  Here is the card I made for them:

Because the 50th is the golden anniversary, the background is Brushed Gold cardstock that has been embossed with the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  The numbers were stamped with the retired set, Varsity Numbers, and then heat embossed in gold.

I read that the flower for a 50th anniversary is the violet.  I looked at pictures of violets online (a botanist I am not - I needed help) and this flower was the closest stamp I had (5 heart shaped petals).  I stamped the flowers with Elegant Eggplant ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and punched them out with the Pansy Punch.

Because it was getting darker, I used my flash to take the picture.  I'm kind of glad I had to because it really shows how the gold numbers shine and how the the flowers sparkle (though I think the sparkle is much prettier in real life).  I spritzed the flowers with my homemade spray of frost white shimmer paint and rubbing alcohol mixed in a Stampin' Spritzer.  I added some basic pearls to the flower centers.  The frame stamp is from Papaya Collage.

When I assembled the card, I made sure to use lots of Stampin' Dimensionals to give the card depth and add visual interest.  I also raised the flower petals a bit by pushing down in the center.

Pacific Point Pansies (Flower Shop)

Here's one of the cards we made in stamp club last week.  It uses the new Stampin' Up! set Flower Shop and the coordinating Pansy Punch.  You can get both of the items in a bundle and save 15%.  The sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

The embossing was done with the Fancy Fan folder.  The flower centers on the Whisper White piece were punched with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, but in class we used circles from the Owl Punch.  They are a little smaller and looked better because you can see the inner ring of white polka dots (like on the punched Pansy, which has a new Candy Dot for it's center).  I just haven't changed my sample card yet.  The Designer Series Paper is the Patterns Paper Stack - Brights.

Colors:  Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White.
