Happy 4th of July - For Your Country

If you haven't made your Independence Day cards yet, there's still time...barely. We made card this in our last Stamp Club.

You can send this card to anyone you want to wish them a Happy 4th of July. However, I finished off the inside with a couple other stamps from the For Your Country set - Godspeed and Thank You. I thought it would be nice to send it to a soldier currently serving our country. I also added some Real Red and Night of Navy stars that I punched out with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Sponge Daubers

This variation was made by one of my customers, Alyce Anthony. She used the sponge daubers to make little circles instead of sponging like I did. Isn't it cute?

Beautiful Heart Card

In honor of the Hearts Collection Framelits Die Item # 125599 being on sale, I'm re-posting a favorite card of mine.  The embossing folder has retired, but you could probably substitute the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder.  I'm sure there are good substitutes for the stamp and the ribbon, as well.  The other items are current.  See even more ideas with these framelits here.

Some of the Stampin' Up! products I recognize - the Stripes embossing folder, the Square Lattice e.f., several punches (Scallop Circle, Circle, Word Window, the small circle for the nose is possibly from the Owl Punch), Designer Series Patterns Paper Stack, and brads - plus ink and card stock.  I don't recognize the stamp set (but I've only been involved with Stampin' Up for about 5 or 6 years and since SU! turned 25 this year, that leaves a lot of years worth of stamps that I might not know about).

Happy Father's Day! (Punch Art)

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful fathers out there!

Here is a punch art Father's Day card that we did in my most recent club.  The ladies loved it!  Who doesn't know a man who works with at least the most basic of tools, like the wrenches in this card?

Basic Gray base.  Basic Black layer.  Real Red Top Note die cut run through Big Shot with Stripes Embossing Folder.  Sentiment from Delightful Dozen stamped in Black StazOn on Whisper White and layered on Basic Gray.  Three silver brads.

Wrenches:  Basic Gray  pieces (all sponged around edges):  Rectangle.  1 1/4" Circle Punch - use Word Window for cut out.  Punch smallest flower from Boho Blossoms and then punch 1" Circle around it.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 248

I am very excited to announce that I was invited to be on the Techno Stamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge Team.  I'm quite honored because Mary Jo Price-Williams saw my work and liked it enough to invite me.  The members of the team are listed at the bottom of this post.  They are a talented group of stampers.

Here's this week's sketch:

I was pretty literal with my card and followed the sketch closely.  The color combination reminded me of summer and 4th of July, which made me think of the fair and Ferris Wheels.  Here's what I came up with:

The stamps are from the Sale-A-Bration set Feeling Sentimental, which can be yours free with a $50 order.  Colors:  Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple. 

The sketch is merely a starting point to jog your creativity.  This week's sketch also inspired the next card.  It is not nearly as literal as the other.  I turned it on its side and replaced the two same colored layers with a ribbon at one end and flowers at the other.  The stamps are from Amazing Family, which is in the new Spring Catalog.

I love how one sketch can inspire so many different ideas.  Why don't you let the sketch inspire you?  Create a card using the sketch and link to it so we can all see your creation.  Never done this before and not sure how?  Just ask and I'll walk you through it.

Scentsational Season Gingerbread Card

Here is another card using the Scentsational Season stamp set and the Holiday Collection Framelits from the new Holiday Catalog.  This time I used the gingerbread men.

The scallop strip cut with the Tasteful Trim die really is on the card straight.  It's my photography that's a little off, lol.  I also used the Stripes Embossing Folder on the scallop strip.

You're My Type

Today's cards feature the stamp set You're My Type.  This set has a typewriter and several phrases.  It's a great set for making quick cards that look good.

Happiest Birthday Wishes

Do you like free Stampin' Up stuff?  I know, silly question.  Who doesn't like free?  Today's card features two great items that you can get for free if you join my Sale-A-Bration stamp club.  Contact me or see here for more details.  We always have lots of fun in stamp club and would love to have you join us!

The background was made by running the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock through the Big Shot.  Both stamps come from the hostess set Happiest Birthday Wishes.  The stamp on the ribbon was punched out with the Large Tag Punch and the Real Red layer behind it was punched with the Extra-Large Tag Punch.  I used Real Red and Delightful Daffodil Stampin' Write markers to add as many candles as I could because on the inside I stamped the saying, "the more candles the bigger the wish!" from the previous S-A-B set Whimsical Words.  Each year Stampin' Up has wonderful sets that are exclusive to Sale-A-Bration.  This year is no exception.  Make plans to get yours for free -- much better than seeing it used later and wonder why you missed out.

I added a few Basic Rhinestones along the side of the card.  The ribbon is retired, but you could substitute for that -- maybe some 5/8" satin ribbon or a strip of Real Red cardstock stamped in Whisper White ink with Dot, Dot, Dot (or perhaps the dots in Confetti).  Or maybe even a strip of Real Red cardstock punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border (try it layered on a strip of Whisper White).
