Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. It features the Stampin' Up! stamp set, Perfect Pennants.  The set is available in a bundle, with the Banner Framelits. You save 15% when purchasing the bundle instead of the individual products.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Birthday Basics. It was cut using my Big Shot and the Starburst Framelits. The framelits are available in a Bundle with the Starburst Sayings stamp set. The button was made with Simply Pressed Clay and the Buttons and Blossoms molds. The ribbon is Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Here's this week's sketch.
Link your project and see the rest of the design team samples at the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge site. Hope you'll play along!

Happy Watercolor Sympathy

As you know, we often don't get much notice when we need a sympathy card. Here's a quick, one layer, sympathy card I made using the Stampin' Up! sets Happy Watercolor and Blessings From Heaven. I rounded the corners on the right side, but left the folded (left) side corners squared.
I hope you won't have a need for a sympathy card. If you don't, change the message and you've got a cute card good for just about any occasion.

Retiring Products list will be announced 4/21! Free standard shipping on all orders 4/21-25! See details on tomorrow's blog post.

Easter Card - Blessed Easter With Fringed Grass

Reminder: Relay For Life fundraiser is tomorrow! Details here. Hope you can come! For planning purposes, if you're planning to be there, could you let me know? Thanks!

This is such a pretty stamp for Spring cards. Of course, it's great for Easter cards like this one, but it can also be used without the sentiment to make it more versatile.
I love the Fringe Scissors in the Occasions Mini Catalog! If you don't have them - get them! Seriously! Love them! (Getting the idea yet?)

Supplies:

Stamps: Blessed Easter
Ink: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Early Espresso
Card stock: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Accessories: Fringe Scissors
Big Shot: Square Lattice Embossing Folder

I entered this card in SU Only Challenges. The theme is Easter this week.

Sale-a-Bration ends 3/31

Sale-a-Bration (SAB) ends tomorrow (Monday, 3/31)! Get your exclusive SAB items before they're gone!

Here are a couple of cards I made featuring Sale-a-Bration items.  The top card has the following SAB items: Banner Blast, Banner Punch, Summer Starfruit Baker's Twine (from Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack). The other stamp is from Starburst Sayings and is cut out with the Starburst Framelits. The banner holders were punched with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.

This card is a CASE, but I've seen so many versions that I don't know who to give credit to. SAB items on this card: Banner Punch and See Ya Later. Other products: Circles Framelits, Word Bubbles Framelits.

You're Lovely Bookmark Card

BLOG CANDY:  Win Reason to Smile by interacting on my social media.  See details here.  No limit to the number of entries!

Stamp Club met Tuesday night and Wednesday morning this week.  As always, we had a great time!  If you are in the Garner/Southern Wake County area of North Carolina, you should join us for a class sometime.  We'd love to meet you!

When we made bookmarks at my recent Open House, one of the stampers asked if we could make a card with a removable bookmark.  This is what I designed.  It was the first of three projects we made.

Shown below is the bookmark.  In class I recommended to stamp lightly so that the Primrose Petals was not quite as dark as on my bookmark.  That way more of the flower stamp showed.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Happy Watercolor, You're Lovely (FREE during Sale-a-Bration)
Cardstock:  Primrose Petals, Midnights Muse, Gumball Green, Whisper White
Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green
Big Shot:  Deco Labels Framelits, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (FREE during SAB)
Other:  Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (on Weekly Deals list through 3/3), Corner Rounder Punch

I picked these colors for the class projects because many of the stampers took advantage of the My Paper Pumpkin (MPP) Promotion and got this In Color set of markers for FREE.  The MPP promotion ends March 31, 2014.  When you sign up, please select me (Sue Root, Raleigh, NC) as your demonstrator.  Thank you!

Just Sayin' Birthday Card

This card has a few of my current favorites on it:  Just Sayin', Word Bubbles Framelits, and Simply Pressed Clay.  The Word Bubbles are so fun!  I'm just buzzing with ideas for them - and not all include the coordinating Just Sayin' stamp set.

Here's a close-up of the button made with Simply Pressed Clay.  I love that I can now make buttons in any color I want!  It was finished off with Gold Baker's Twine.  Is the picture clear enough to see the gold thread running through it?

I think this design from Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper (DSP) is perfect for this stamp.  So is the one with all the candles.

The pretty, bright ribbon is Raspberry Ripple 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  This ribbon comes in all of the 2012-14 In Colors.  Be sure to stock up before they are gone!

These items can be ordered online (please use hostess code HEANKVVG to get a free gift with an order of $20 or more) or contact me if you'd like to be part of a group order.  Thank you!

TSSC 299 -

Here is this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge sample:

I ended up switching it around quite a bit, but I did start with the sketch in mind.  Just goes to show - you never know where your inspiration will lead you.

The sentiment on the front of this card is from Starburst Sayings, which is in the new Occasions Catalog.  It started out round, but I cut out the words so I could use them on the banner.  The middle section is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The globe is from Open Sea.  For the banners, I cut my cardstock, stamped it with the World Map stamp, and then punched it with the Banner Punch that you can get for free during Sale-a-Bration (SAB).

Here is this week's sketch:

Head to the TSSC website to see the rest of the design team samples.  Then use the sketch to inspire your creation and link it at the bottom of the TSSC post.

Thanks for stopping by.  Remember, Sale-a-Bration starts tomorrow!!  Woo Hoo!!

If you need to get Stampin' Up! supplies or want to get free SAB goodies, you can Order Online.  Please use hostess code:  BT3W33YY  Thank you for your support!

Love You More Cards

I have a bonus for you today - 2 cards!  Both use the adorable Love You More set, which is only available until January 27.

I used the World Map background stamp because I think it's perfect behind the stamp that says, "you mean the world to me."  I used Teeny Tiny Wishes and made it a Get Well card, but you could also choose the Valentine or Anniversary stamp from that set.  Colors are Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, and Very Vanilla.

This next card is great for a Valentine or Anniversary card - or even just to let someone know he or she is special to you.  It just depends what sentiment you put on the inside.

The background was embossed using the Big Shot and the Chevron Embossing Folder.  The heart was cut with the Hearts Framelits,.  Both were sponged using Sponged Daubers and Whisper White Craft Ink.  The stamped image was cut with the Starburst Framelits, which are available in the 2014 Occasions Catalog.  I sponged around it with Real Red Classic Ink.

The World Is Better Because of You!

Here's one of the cards we'll be making at my upcoming classes (Jan. 28 and 29 - see here for details).  I know I can always use another masculine card.  I'll bet you can, too.

The background is the World Map stamp set, which is in the Annual Catalog.  The focal point is from Starburst Sayings, which I got in a bundle with the Starburst Framelits.  They are available in the new 2014 Occasions Catalog.

Colors are Whisper White, Soft Suede, and Night of Navy.

There's still room in both classes, but they are filling quickly.  Contact me today to reserve your spot!

Happy Watercolor Bookmark and Tag.

Here are the make-and-takes from Saturday's Open House.  Everyone enjoyed the projects and had a great time!

Both tags use the new stamp set, Happy Watercolor, which is available in the 2014 Occasions catalog.   We actually made a modified version of this tag.  The first thing I thought of when I saw the Scallop Tag Topper Punch was that it would make great bookmarks.  The ones we made at the Open House were actually a little longer, so they'll stay in the book better.  We also added some dots at the bottom (you can see that stamp in the tag below - the Pool Party dots).  I like both versions.

I have to admit - at first I was wondering what to do with the "blob" as my stampers and I were calling it.  But after I started playing with it, I decided it adds a really cool look.  Stampin' Up! has a magazine for demonstrators and I saw a tag in there that I liked.  I modified it a little and this is the result:

Once I started playing with this set, I had a hard time stopping.  That's the way it should be, right?  So be on the lookout for more samples made with this awesome set.

Thanks to everyone who came to the Open House!  I always have so much fun with you guys!!  If you are local, come to an event sometime.  My group of stampers is the best!  So, you'll get to stamp, learn something new, and meet some wonderful people.  Win, win, win!
