NC SU Demos Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be part of the NC SU Demos Blog Hop! Follow through the blogs to see lots of great ideas using Sale-a-Bration (SAB) items. SAB items are those wonderful products you can get for free through March 31. Get 1 free item for each $50 purchase. Once you see the great projects in this blog hop, your wish list will probably be big enough to earn a free item (or two).

I have two projects for you today using the SAB items Flowering Fields stamp set and the coordinating Designer Series Paper (DSP) Wildflower Fields.

The first project is a center step card. In addition to the featured SAB items, I used the stamp set And Many More, which is so versatile. Several other sentiments in that set could be substituted for the one I used and the card would be good for a different occasion. The sentiment was die cut using my Big Shot and the banner from the Large Numbers Framelits Dies. The bow was made with the Bow Builder Punch. I used my Stampin' Write marker to add the grasss.

Did you notice how the butterflies on the front are lightly colored? I used clear Wink of Stella on them. It blended the ink a little and added some sparkle. I couldn't get the sparkle to show in my pictures, but trust me, it is very cool!

Here's the inside of the card. The sentiments, like the one on the front, are from And Many More. The flowers are the same ones, from Flowering Fields, as used on the front of the card.

Here's the second project I made. It's a note holder with a chipboard coaster as it's base. I cut the DSP to the size of the coaster and then used the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, which matched perfectly.  The flowers on the left are a decoration and on the right is a 2x3 pad of Post-It notes. I fabricated an easel back and attached it to the back of the coaster so I can stand it up on my desk.
I covered the clothespin with DSP to make it look pretty. I also lightly sponged around the clothespin with Calypso Coral ink. Wonder why I added it? So I can pin notes to my holder. It grabs my attention because it looks different and when I don't need the note any more, I pull it off and the pretty flowers are back.

By the way, the clothespins are on the Weekly Deals list through tomorrow night.

That's it for my projects. Thanks for stopping by. Head on over to the blog of Pam Staples to see another great project.

The Sky Is The Limit!

Here is one of the cards we'll be making at the upcoming classes on 1/26 and 1/30. It features two products you can get for free during Sale-a-Bration (SAB): Sky Is The Limit Stamp Set and Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper. Both are only available until February 15, so don't delay in getting them. The ribbon is Crumb Cake 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Here is a variation of the card. I created the background using an assortment of stamps, including ones from Timeless Textures.

This is the first version of this card that I made. The plane is stamped directly on the DSP (as opposed to cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals as on the other two). It's good for when you need a quick card, but if you have the time, it's worth the extra effort to pop up the plane.

This stamp set is great for masculine cards. Although I think men or women would enjoy cards made with this set, I point this out because (for me at least) it is sometimes harder to come up with ideas for manly cards.

Flowering Fields - 2016 Sale-a-Bration

I had my Occasions and Sale-a-Bration Open House today. Thanks to everyone who came out and congratulations to Corothy and Sherri who won door prizes. Of course I forgot to take pictures while it was happening, but here's one of the display tables. Before the event, the items were arranged. After being handled and shown around, not so much.

This is one of samples. The washi tape along the bottom is one of the weekly deals (through Monday)  2014-2016 In Color Designer Washi Tape Item # 138382 Regular Price: $8.00 US, Discounted Price: $6.00 US. The flowers are from Flowering Fields, which you can get for free during Sale-a-bration (SAB) and the sentiment is from Rose Wonder, which is in the Occasions catalog.
As you can see, I have lots of projects to share so be sure to check back.

Guy Greetings Congratulations

Here's a quick card I made using Guy Greetings. I love this Stampin' Up! set. There are so many possibilities. What sold me on the set were the coordinating sayings. This card is sized to fit in the Notecard sized envelopes.

The stamp used on the inside is also included in the Guy Greetings set:

Botanicals Coordination

If you have your Sale-a-Bration catalog you've probably seen these pretty cards. They use the Botanicals For You stamp set that you can get for free during Sale-a-Bration (SAB) with a $50 purchase. The vellum is from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack which you can also get for free during SAB.

These items coordinate with the Botanical Blooms bundle on page 26 of the new Occasions catalog. The die cut flowers and leaves were stamped with Botanical Blooms stamp set and die cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits which are both part of that bundle. The Designer Series Paper, Botanical Gardens DSP, is also part of the bundle. Buy the bundle and not only save 15% but get a Sale-a-Braion item for free.
