Happy Father's Day! (Punch Art)

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful fathers out there!

Here is a punch art Father's Day card that we did in my most recent club.  The ladies loved it!  Who doesn't know a man who works with at least the most basic of tools, like the wrenches in this card?

Basic Gray base.  Basic Black layer.  Real Red Top Note die cut run through Big Shot with Stripes Embossing Folder.  Sentiment from Delightful Dozen stamped in Black StazOn on Whisper White and layered on Basic Gray.  Three silver brads.

Wrenches:  Basic Gray  pieces (all sponged around edges):  Rectangle.  1 1/4" Circle Punch - use Word Window for cut out.  Punch smallest flower from Boho Blossoms and then punch 1" Circle around it.

Late Night Stampers and Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenges (Patterned Party)

I doubled up my challenges again this week.  I am on the design team for the Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge (aka Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge) and I am a guest designer for the Late Night Stampers Challenge.  Since both challenges start on Monday, it's kind of fun to try to incorporate both challenges in one card.

Bells and Boughs Card and Gift Card Holder

I have two coordinating projects to share today - a card and a gift card holder.

The card was made first using the Bells and Boughs stamp set, Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, the oval from the Designer Frames embossing folders, the Scallop Oval punch, and my Big Shot.  The ink is Always Artichoke and the Cardstock is Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, and Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations (which has been sanded to make the embossed image stand out).

I wanted a gift card holder for a class and I really liked the above card, so I modified it to look like this.  I used the Top Note die for the shape and changed up the colors a bit.

The brad creates a hinge to open the gift card holder.

Friendship Preserves Thanks

When I first saw this Thanks stamp in the Friendship Preserves set by Stampin' Up, the grapes on the stamp made me want to extend the grapes onto the card.

The grapes were made by punching several Elegant Eggplant circles and then layering them to look like a bunch of grapes.  I cut the leaves freehand.  The Thanks image was cut out using one of the dies from the Window Frames Collection Framelits.  All of this was arranged on a double layer of the Top Note die which was then added to the card.

Lovely As A Tree with Top Note Die

The tree on this card is from Lovely As A Tree, which is an absolutely gorgeous set.  The fall colored leaves were done by coloring the stamp directly with watercolor pencils, spritzing the stamp with water and then stamping the image.  Then I inked up the tree stamp with Soft Suede ink and used my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig to stamp again directly over the water colored leaves.  I taught this technique (with this stamp) at a recent class and everyone loved it as much as I do.

I also used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder, which is perfect for all sorts of projects -- anything with leaves or trees obviously, but also behind a wreath to look like a door or with tools to name a few.  The More Mustard layer was cut with the classic Top Note die.  The acorn was cut from Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock with the Autumn Accents die.  I peeled the layers apart, trimmed the cap and glued it back on the lighter layer.

Scentsational Season Gingerbread Men

I think the Gingerbread Men in the Stampin' Up set, Scentsational Season, are adorable.  We made this card at the Stamp-a-Stack I held a couple weeks ago.

Twitterpated Top Note Card

Here's another card I made using the beautiful Twitterpated fabric.  I cut it using my Big Shot and the Top Note die.  I also used the Big Shot to cut the flower using the Blossom Party die.

The sentiment is from the retiring set Sincere Salutations.  It's a great set full of differerent...well...salutations.  The stamps are all close to the same size so once you design a card using one you can easily interchange the others.  You don't want to miss out on this one!  The ribbon, too, is retiring.  I love these ribbons, available in all the 2010-12 in colors.  I will miss the ribbons and this group of in colors.  They are only available while supplies last (or until May 31)

Faux Suede

I used Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and the Bright Blossoms stamp set (the leaves) from the Summer Smooches promotion on this card.

I often use Fire Circle Rhinestone brads for the center of flowers, as I did on this card.  They add a nice bit of sparkle.  The sentiment is from the set Word Play, which has lots of great sayings.



It's A Wrap Candy and Card

I wanted a small gift of candy and a coordinating card, so I used It's A Wrap Holidays and Circle Circus.  The stamps from It's a Wrap Holidays are the perfect size to cover Hershey's Nuggets (and when it comes to candy, you really can't beat chocolate!).

The four wrapped nuggets were loaded into a Stampin' Up small cellophane bag.  I used the Top Note die for the topper and attached it with Sticky Strip.  I stamped the 4 YOU image on another piece of Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 3/4" circle punch.  I attached the punched circle to the image stamped on the topper with a Stampin' Dimensional, rotating it so that the words were upright.

Valentines

Wow!  I can't believe it's been so long since I posted.  I've been busy with life, which has a way of happening.

I thought I'd share the treats I made for my family.  I made them all cards, plus I made the girls treat bags and made my husband a Valentine box filled with what else -- kisses.  Both girls' bags had the same amount of candy to start with, but I forgot to take pictures before they were given and you can't expect kids to keep out of candy just so Mom can get a photo :)

We made a similar treat bag in the Preschool Fundraiser class I held recently.  The bag was the small size and the Top Note was turned the other way -- so it was narrower and taller.  I didn't get a picture of that either before I gave it away.  Guess I have to work on that.

All supplies are Stampin' Up except the initials on the bags (but I do have the Stampin' Up alphabets and use those, too -- this alphabet just seemed a little more "teenager-ish").
