Flower Burst Embosslits

I've got three cards to share with you today, all of which contain the retiring embosslit Flower Burst.  The other embosslit, Simple Flower, was on the clearance list until just recently.  In fact, I was surprised to see that it was gone.  Make sure to get the Flower Burst embosslit before it, too, is gone.

The background on this card was made with the retiring stamp set Fifth Avenue Florals.  I am really going to miss this set!  If you don't have it, you ought to.  See other cards I've made with this set here.  There are only a few, which is surprising since I use this set A LOT.  The big rose is perfect for the re-inker watercolor technique.  I can't believe I don't have a picture of that.  Talk about beautiful!

The Flower Burst embosslit is the More Mustard flower.  Also used on this card are the Word Window and Modern label punches and the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Besides the embosslits (the Bermuda Bay flowers are the Flower Burst ones), I also used the retiring set Three Little Words.  The set comes with several three words phrases that you can use to complete the thought.  I'll leave you guessing as to which three words I chose.  The colors are retired, but I could get you some of this card stock if you want.

Define Your Life (plus Eastern Blooms and other sets)

Each of the three cards today uses the gratitude stamp from the retiring set Define Your Life.  I will put a nice thank you verse inside and then use them for Project Give Thanks.

Fifth Avenue Florals with Melon Mambo Embossing Powder

The new Melon Mambo embossing powder is so cool!  It gives fantastic coverage.  Click here to see how great it shows up on dark cardstock.  I can't wait to try the other colors!

The flowers, from the set Fifth Avenue Florals, were stamped in VersaMark, then heat embossed with the Melon Mambo embossing powder. I used my aqua pen and ink to watercolor the flowers. The sentiment is from Simply Said. The layer along the bottom was punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch and layered on a strip of Melon Mambo cardstock.

I tried the new Melon Mambo embossing powder and it's fantastic!  Look at how well the rose from Fifth Avenue Florals shows up on the Night of Navy cardstock.  The sentiment is from Wellness Wishes and is embossed with white embossing powder.  The ribbon is 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

This design is adaptable to many different sets.  This is a variation on the card we made at the new stamper class (May 12th post).  I also did the same type card with a kids' Sunday School class at church, but we used Awash with Flowers.  Change the set, change the vase, change the look.  Great for a beginner!  This card and the one from the class were done with no layers, but I've made them layered before.  I've also added ribbons and other embellishments.  So, this idea can be modified to suit your needs and your style.
