NC SU Demos Birthdays Blog Hop

Today I'm featuring the Party Pop-Ups die, Party With Cake stamp set, and It's My Party Designer Series Paper (DSP). I made these cards pretty simple to highlight that with these products you can get a great card without having to know a lot of special techniques or advance stamping. The DSP is festive, the stamp set has great coordinating messages, and the Party Pop-Ups thinlits provide a huge wow factor without a lot of work or fancy cutting.

Here's the front of my first card. On the cake is basic rhinestone that I colored with my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write marker.

 Here's a picture of the inside. Isn't that really cool how the cake pops up off the page?

 And here's a view from the top so you can really see how it pops out.

 Here's another card, using the other die. The stars are punched with the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. The Melon Mambo 1/4" cotton ribbon is soooo soft. Have you tried it yet?

The front of this card is embossed with the Confetti embossing folder. The smaller oval is DSP with the message stamped on it. The sequins are from gold sequin trim.

NC SU Demos Occasions and In Color Blog Hop

I fell in love with this Designer Series Paper (DSP) the first time I saw it. Since it uses the retiring In Color Blackberry Bliss (which I also love), I chose to use it for today's projects. This type of card is called a Joy Fold card. Scroll down for supplies used, other views, and another card using the same supplies.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Very Vanilla, Pacific Point (though I just noticed the DSP uses Island Indigo, so you may want to use that instead), Delightful Dijon

Designer Series Paper: Bohemian DSP

Stamps: Number of Years, Party with Cake (inside)

Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay

Big Shot: Large Numbers Framelits

The little diamond in the corner helps hold the card closed. Only put Stampin' Dimensionals on one half so that the front of the card can tuck under the other half. Here it is untucked.

 Here's the card all the way open. The diamond on the inside panel is cut out from the DSP.

 Here's another card I made using some of the same supplies. I like it because I think it's appropriate for a male or a female and sometimes it's harder for me to come up with masculine cards. Though I must say, Stampin' Up! has seemed to have more manly stamps recently.

Masculine Birthday Card With a Twist

These cards with the flipped up DSP are all the rage lately. Have you seen them? I finally got around to trying one - with a twist. I changed the orientation. I love how the DSP opens to reveal the message. And is it just me, or every time you see that stamp do you think of the Beatles and want to start singing?

I love the colors in the It's My Party DSP pack, but it's a little harder to make a masculine card with it. I think this one works.

 Supplies:

Stamps: Suite Sayings, Party With Cake

Ink:  Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand (sponged around Make a wish).

Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper (DSP): It's My Party

Embellishments: Gold Sequins
