Watercolor Shadows and Highlights Technique

Here's another Stampin' Up! video I'd like to share with you. Great information to help you improve your water coloring skills. Enjoy!

This isn't the exact card made in the video, but it uses the same technique and the same stamped image. You may recognize it from the catalog.

TSSC 366 - Giggle Greetings Birthday

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I used Giggle Greetings. Those stamps really do make me giggle. Okay, I'd say I'm more of a chuckle person than a giggle person - but you get the idea.
Supplies:
Stamps: Giggle Greetings
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Moonlight DSP (retired, but I have some extra if you want a pack)

In case the picture isn't clear enough to be able to read the sentiment, it says, "age is something that doesn't count unless you're a cheese." This saying is perfect for my family. Cheese and crackers is a nightly snack for much of my extended family.
Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you!
You can link your project and see the rest of the design team samples at the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge site. Remember, the challenge now goes for two weeks so you've got plenty of time to play along.

Regular readers of my blog and facebook page may be having a sense of deja vu as they see this post. The TSSC challenge recently went from weekly to bi-monthly. Because June had 3 Mondays, there was a little confusion on the dates and this got posted last week. I pulled it and am now posting it on the correct day.

Here's the inside of the card:

Sprinkles of LIfe Gift Card Holder

We made this in club this past week. We used the diagonal score board to make the outer envelope. It's perfectly sized to hold a gift card. I like the idea of presenting it like this. I think it looks pretty.

Here's the insert. The cupcake top is popped up. The top of the tag is punched with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. The cupcake top is punched with the Tree Builder punch.
You could also close it up to give. If you slide the band up like this, the envelope flap will tuck under the band. The tag is on the opposite side of the envelope than if I was presenting it open like above.
Stamps: Sprinkles of Life.

DSP is retired Moonlight pack. If you missed it, I have some available for sale. I also have some of the retired ribbon available as part of a ribbon share (2 yds ea of each of the 5 in colors). Let me know and I'll hook you up.

Sprinkles of Life Ice Cream Cone CAS Card

Here's a clean and simple card made with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and Tree Builder punch. It's one of the cards we're making at this week's classes. We're also making a pop-up card and a gift card holder using the same stamps and punch.

Colors: Soft Suede, Pool Party, So Saffron, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White

Class tomorrow, Tuesday, at 6:30pm is almost full. Saturday at 10:00am has more spots. There's still room for you in either class if you want to come. It's also the start of a new round of stamp club if you want to join. Class is open to stamp club members and non-members. Just let me know.

Check back later in the week to see the other projects.

Guy Greetings - Quick Present Wrap

Happy Father's Day!

Hope you've had a nice day. I needed to wrap a present for my husband and didn't have any appropriate wrapping paper - nor did I have time to create some elaborate packaging. So, I grabbed a piece of copy paper (which is why it's bright gold - the only color I could find besides white) and stamped some images from Guy Greetings. I wrapped the present with that paper and added some ribbon at the bottom

If I'd had more time I probably would have blinged it up a bit, but I don't think it looks too bad - especially for how quickly it went together. The weight of the new envelope paper would be perfect for this project.

Sprinkles of Life and Tree Builder Punch

Check out these cute projects made with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and Tree Builder punch.

Projects made with these items from the new catalog are popping up all over the internet. I can see why. It's a cute set with a variety of elements that give it a lot of versatility and cute sayings to tie in with the images. Cupcakes, trees, ice cream cones, and clouds. Plus a portion of the purchase price from Sprinkles of Life goes to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Here's the Sprinkles of Life set. See what I mean about the cute sayings?

And here's the punch. I'm already envisioning other things I can do with it.
These images are from Stampin' Up! They've provided several catalog images to help demonstrators with our business. Periodically I'll share some of these projects with you.

Ever thought about becoming a demonstrator? Now's the time! During June, get 2 free stamp sets (your choice) when you join. TSSC 365 - Flower Card

EDIT 6/16/15: For some reason my design team sample didn't make it on the TSSC blog with the others. I just went ahead and linked it the way you will when you play along. So if you look for it there, it's underneath with the challenge entries.

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I used the faux suede technique on the flower.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): In Color Envelope Paper (Watermelon Wonder)
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (retired)
Punch: 3/4" circle, Pansy Punch (on the weekly deals through tonight), and a punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (retired)
Sorry about the retired items. You could use the Decorative Dots embossing folder instead of Perfect Polka Dots ef. There are a few options for the retired punch - 1/2" circle punch would be a little bigger, but still good; a Brights Designer Button; or if you used Delightful Dijon instead of Daffodil Delight, a 2015-2017 In Color Blossom Accent would look cute.

Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you! I was pretty literal with it.
You can link your project and see the rest of the design team samples at the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge site. Hope you'll play along this week!

Wildflower Meadow - Discounted!

REMINDER: June 2nd is the last day to order retiring items! All retiring items are available while supplies last!!

I am re-sharing this card I originally posted in 2013. I think it's a very pretty stamp and I just saw that it's discounted. Wildflower Meadow Clear Mount is now only $10.46 (instead of $13.95), Wood Mount is now only $13.46. The coordinating embossing folder (which I did not use on this card) is 1/2 off! So it's only $3.98.
I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color directly on the stamp.  Then I lightly spritzed the stamp with water and stamped the image onto Whisper White card stock.  I used my Sponge Dauber to add some blue (Pool Party) for the sky.

Stamp:  Wildflower Meadow (clear - so needed Clear Block F)
Card Stock:  Gumball Green (retired), Whisper White
Stampin' Write Markers:  Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit (retired)
Classic Stampin' Pad:  Pool Party
Tools:  Stampin' Spritzer, Sponge Daubers

All of these items can be ordered in my Online Store.  And don't forget the envelopes so that you can mail all of the beautiful cards that you make.

Please know that I appreciate each and every order!  Use the current hostess code (7W9AKVMM) and receive a thank you from me.

Memorial Day Decoration Idea

I just found this awesome digital download on the Stampin' Up! site. I'm going to download it and make a decoration for Memorial Day tomorrow (which I'll also be able to use on 4th of July). It's sized to print out at 8.5 x 11, so you can print it on your own printer. Buy or decorate a cute frame and you're done - if you want to be. You can, of course, embellish to your heart's content. It would look nice reduced and mounted on coordinating card stock before being put in the frame.

http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=130065&dbwsdemoid=2046365

You can use it in My Digital Studio and other programs. I've even used MDS downloads in Word. Use it as a background or shrink it to make a focal point on a scrapbook page. There's lots you can do with these downloads even if you don't own MDS. Besides this template, there's a 28 piece stamp brush set included to increase the versatility. But remember, you must buy, download, and save to your computer by May 31! Downloads are available immediately after purchase, so there's still time for you to have this for your holiday cookout tomorrow.

Pride Framable Designer Template - Digital Download     130065
Price: $2.77.    Price shown includes 30% discount.

Download includes:
* 1 décor template (8-1/2" x 11")
* 28-piece stamp brush set

Features:
* Digital-exclusive
* A perfect framable to display during patriotic times of the year
* Easy to create coordinating projects with all included elements

Here's another card I made using the current TSSC sketch. I used the Background Stamp Wildflower Meadow. I didn't use it on this card, but this stamp has a coordinating embossing folder. Both the stamp and embossing folder are on the retirement list.
Stamps: Wildflower Meadow (Retiring)
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Sweet Taffy
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight
Big Shot: Labels Framelits (Retiring)

This Set Will Be Missed...

I recently used this stamp on the current TSSC Challenge. This is such a great set. I can't believe it's retiring. The Labels Framelits and Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper (DSP) are also retiring.

You can get all of the supplies used on this card from my online store.

TSSC 363 - From My Heart

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge.  I love the sayings in this set, From the Heart -- especially the one I used on this card. The secret of life is enjoying the passing of time.
Stamps: From My Heart (Retiring)
Cardstock: Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Sweet Taffy
Ink: Old Olive, Pacific Point
Big Shot: Labels Framelits (Retiring)

I like when sets have paired messages. I used the message that goes with this stamp on the inside of the card. I'd rather do NOTHING with you than SOMETHING with anyone else. Aren't both messages great thoughts? I think so!
Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you!
You can link your project and see the rest of the design team samples at the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge site. Hope you'll play along this week!

Check back later in the week for another card made using this sketch.

Butterfly Treats

Happy Mother's Day!
We made these cute little butterfly treats a couple months ago in club, but I'm just getting them posted now. The butterfly is made with the Mixed Bunch stamp set (retiring) and Blossom punch (retiring and already sold out). The butterfly center is a chocolate egg. Antennae are made with two little strips of card stock. Colors: Melon Mambo and Marina Mist.

Let the Blossom punch be a reminder - if you want anything off the retiring list, don't wait to get it. Items are available while supplies last. That being said, it's possible I may be able to locate a Blossom punch, so if you want one, please contact me.

I got the instructions how to make these cute butterflies from Sarah Willis.

TSSC 362 - Perfect Pennants

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. For some reason, I thought Perfect Pennants was retiring and am so happy to find out it isn't. This set is full of great sayings that I use a lot.

While I was at it, I made another version.

They both use the same supplies:

Stamps: Perfect Pennants
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Basic Gray, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Confetti Celebration (retiring) (Thanks Heather A for identifying the DSP.)
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you!
