TSSC 331 - For All Things

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. It features the Stampin' Up! stamp set, For All Things.

Supplies:

Stamps: For All Things

Cardstock: Tangelo Twist, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper (DSP): Confetti

Ink: Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Tangelo Twist, Pistachio Pudding

Punch: Project Life Corner Rounder

Here's how I did the color on the leaves: I started by doing the rock and roll technique. I inked the leaf stamp with Crushed Curry and then rolled it on the Tangelo Twist ink pad. The line between colors was too distinct, so I tapped the stamp again on my Crushed Curry pad to soften it.

TSSC 330 - Tap, Tap, Tap

Happy Labor Day! I'd like to say I planned it, but it's just a coincidence that I used the cute set Tap, Tap, Tap for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. It seems appropriate, though, since some of us remember actually using a typewriter at work.

One thing I remember about typewriters is that the letters didn't always come out the same crispness and darkness. That's why I used my old Basic Black ink pad. It's been well used and needs replaced, but I keep it around for projects like this. I think it gives authenticity.

 

Also, did you notice I punched the word "hi" out of the Designer Series Paper at the bottom? I liked that I was able to match it to the word in the typewriter.

August Paper Pumpkin

This month's Paper Pumpkin is so awesome! I love the stamps! I love the cards! I love the envelopes! Can't beat that!!

Here's a shot of the front of the Instruction Sheet so you can see all of the projects. Four big cards, four small cards, and eight fun envelopes:

 Here's the package straight out of the box before I opened anything:

 I made one of each project. As you can tell from the photo above, there are some variations available. What's really cool is that because Stampin' Up! wanted us to be able to make the type of cards we want, there are lots of extra pieces. So what the means for me (and probably most of us) is that with a few extra supplies, I'm going to have several more cards. Bonus!

 Here's a back side and front side view of the envelopes. The big cards are sized to fit our medium envelopes, so I may substitute those and use the large envelopes to make little treat bags. Wouldn't that be cute?

For this first batch, I tried to make the projects per the instructions. However, I did stamp some coordinating Always Artichoke dots on the front of the big envelope. The green ink was not included in the kit. If you don't own Always Artichoke ink, you could do tone on tone with the Hello Honey. Or, you could leave it blank like in the instructions.

 Here's the big card that I made. The back is striped, too. The inside is white.

 Here's a close up of the small card. This is a great size for attaching to a present or slipping in a gift bag.

Aren't these cards and envelopes great? If you didn't get one, I have two available for the first two who ask.

Can I Get a Yee-Haw?

I'm so excited to have started my new job, but it has really cut into my stamping time and the time I have available to share on my blog and social media sites. So today I'm going to share a post from the Stampin' Up! blog. I cut out some of it and added a little to make it flow after the cuts, but it's still essentially by Melody H., Concept Artist at Stampin' Up! Enjoy!

Can I Get a Yee-Haw?

I’ve been anxiously waiting for today for months and months. Drumroll, please . . . and can I get a Yee-Haw?!
 

I had a lot of fun doodling this Yee-Haw photopolymer stamp set. I knew I wanted some imagery to go with all of the fun sentiments. The lasso is probably my favorite piece and was designed to fit around Howdy, Rootin’ Tootin’, and Yee-Haw.


My second favorite image is the sheriff’s badge. The “sheriff” sentiment was purposely left separate from the badge so that you could easily write in someone’s name, then pin it to a shirt or bandana. It also makes an adorable tag for a gift.

Here are a few samples that show how the images can be used to make a soft, pretty card or a sweet little card for a baby shower, a fun thank you note for a friend, or a colorful celebration card.
