TSSC 320 - Thank You Card

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I didn't plan it this way, but I ended up using one of the sets I used on last week's TSSC card. I really like several of the new hostess sets, including the one on today's card, Let Your Hair Down.

Work of Art - Clean and Simple Card

Yesterday was my Catalog Kickoff Party! Thanks to everyone who came! We had a great time checking out the new catalog and samples made with items from it. We also stamped a card.

Here's the card I designed. It's a clean and simple (CAS) card, which is perfect for an event like this.

 Because we were having fun and playing around, we ended up with lots of variations. Here are some of them.

 As you can see, someone came up with the idea to add hearts to the inside. We also had lots of great ideas for the envelopes. I didn't get any pictures of those, though.

Wallet Gift Card/Photo Holder

Here's a project we made in the last stamp club. It's perfect for Father's Day or any other masculine occasion. Or, change it up a bit with some feminine colors and maybe some Designer Series Paper (DSP) on the inside to give to a woman or a girl.


I've shown it standing up and laying flat.

 You can fill this wallet with gift cards, photos, or special messages. I've shown it empty, with some cards, and with the top open to show where you can add cash or a note. A message can be stamped or written on the blank card, which is just card stock with rounded corners.

Look Up To Father - Father's Day Card

This is a variation of a card we did in our last club class. I used the single stamp Look Up To Father. After I stamped the image, I used my paper trimmer to cut it apart.

The background was made with the Big Shot and Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I embossed Core'dinations cardstock and then sanded it. I sure am going to miss the Core'dinations. Good thing I stocked up! The ribbon was current when the club met, but has since retired.

The card we made in club was similar. We left the image whole, then mounted it on a longer piece of Garden Green cardstock and trimmed the bottom of that piece with Fringe Scissors. The ribbon went across the card horizontally and we embellished it with a button. Sorry I don't have a picture to share, but hopefully you can get the idea.

Golden Oldies 50th Birthday Card

A good friend of mine turned the big 5-0 recently and I made her this card. The colors actually turned out a little different than I planned based on the supplies I found when I went to make the card. Does that ever happen to you? Please tell me I'm not the only one!

 I knew I wanted to use Golden Oldies. It might be retired, but it's perfect for these milestone birthdays. And I wanted the lady wearing purple, with a red hat, based on the poem "Warning" by Jenny Joseph. But when I went to find Designer Series Paper (DSP) with numbers, this was all I could find. I thought I had some number DSP with purple in it, but guess not. I thought it was cute to have the old lady saying, "You're how old?" It's from the stamp set, Just Sayin', and was cut with the Word Bubbles Framelits. The 50 was punched out of the DSP with a circle punch and layered on another circle.

Here's a photo of the inside, which says, "We're too young to look this old!" (from Golden Oldies). Then, I used the stamp, "Live, Laugh & Love. Happy Birthday" from On Your Birthday.

I entered this card in the Late Night Stampers Challenge 250. The theme is Celebrations. I'd say a 50th birthday is definitely a celebration!

Here's the poem "Warning" by Jenny Joseph, in case you aren't familiar with it.

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. It was made in My Digital Studio (MDS). When I print it out, I think I'll make it a hybrid card. I'll remove the butterfly from the MDS version and then use Stampin' Dimensionals to add one that I punch out of Bermuda Bay cardstock. I'll either use a butterfly punch and texturize it with my Big Shot or use the butterfly embosslits (depending which size works best).

Undefined Stamp Carving Kit

You may have noticed it's been a few days since I posted. I've been busy with life and volunteering. Happy to do it, but it didn't leave time for much else. So, since I haven't had time to create or photograph anything, I'm sharing some pictures from the Stampin' Up! Undefined Stamp Carving Kit board on Pinterest.

I think the Undefined Kit is so cool! One of these days I'll try one myself. In the meantime, I like seeing what other people have created.  Here are some samples and a video to show you how to use the kit. You can see more samples on my Pinterest board or the SU! Pinterest board. There is some overlap in pins, but both boards are unique.
