Serene Silhouettes Post It Note Holders

You may remember the Post It Note Holder I shared as part of the NC SU Demos Blog Hop a few months ago. My stampers liked it so much they asked to make one in class. By the time we did, most of the items were retired, so I re-designed it using DSP from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack and a stamp from Serene Silhouettes. Everyone got to choose the piece of DSP they wanted for their base. Here are some of the variations made by my customers:

It's hard to see, but there's Dazzling Details on the flowers. Random Post It notes are stamped for a little surprise as the pack gets used. That's coordinating DSP on plain clothespins.
As you can see, Corothy put her flowers at an angle and decided not to add a clothespin.
We crafted a little easel back from the cardboard from a DSP pack. The coasters and Post It notes are not Stampin' Up!, but you could buy the retiring coaster board and cut your own any size you'd like.

All SU! products used on these projects (except the corner rounder punch) are retiring, so be sure to get them before they are gone.

TSSC 311 - Serene Silhouettes

I'm so excited...the Retirement List will be announced later today! Edit: It's here. See a list broken down by category on my blog or see the retired list section in my online store. Well, excited might not be exactly the right word. Anxious, maybe? It's always kind of bittersweet. I hate to see beloved products go, but I know their departure makes room for exciting, new products. I just hope none of my very favorites are on the list. Be sure to check back later today to see which items will be going for good. In case you haven't heard - ALL items on the retirement list will only be available while supplies last (this includes stamps, which is new this year).

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. It features the Stampin' Up! stamp sets, Serene Silhouettes and Banner Greetings (hostess). The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Epic Day.

Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you!

TSSC 305 - Serene Silhouettes

I've said before that one of the things I love about challenges is that I create projects I never would have without the challenge. This is one of those cards. I think I can safely say that I would never have put these elements together like this.  But I'm really pleased with the end result.  I highly suggest you give it a try.

Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper  White
Ink: Basic Black
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Modern Medley
Stamps: Serene Silhouettes

Here is the TSSC sketch, which I used for inspiration:
Thanks for stopping by my blog today. If you haven't been there yet, be sure to check out the design team samples here .  This is also where you can link your project.

Daydream Medallions - Welcome Home

I was trying to figure out how to name this post. I thought about TSSC 304 - Sort Of. Why? Because this is the card I mentioned in Monday's post. The one I started for the TSSC Challenge, but then decided not to use. It was going okay, but I didn't really think the strip along the bottom would work.  So, I decided to leave it as it is. The card reminds me of double doors with a big wreath in the middle - hence the name, Welcome Home.

Stamps: Daydream Medallions, Serene Silhouettes
Big Shot: Floral Framelits
Colors: Calypso Coral, Pool Party

Here's the card standing and slightly ajar:
I've had some people ask me how I made the fold. It's really very simple:

Start with an 8.5 x 5.5 piece of card stock (like we would use for a standard card). Instead of folding it in the middle, score and fold 1/4 of the way in on each side (i.e. at 2 1/8" from each end of the 8.5 side).  Edges should meet in the middle.

Here's a picture of my other card open, so you can get a visual:

You can see the post with this card here.

I went ahead and added this to the TSSC Challenge blog since the sketch was the inspiration for it.  I just didn't want it to be my design team sample.

So, I told you this reminds me of double doors with a wreath.  What do you think?  Of what does this card remind you?  Leave a comment and let me know.

TSSC 269 - Serene Silhouettes

Here's my design team sample for the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge (#269).
This card uses two stamp sets - Serene Silhouettes and Papillon Potpourri.  The scallop border was cut with the Tasteful Trim die and Big Shot.  The ribbon is Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I also used the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  Colors:  Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, and Whisper White.

Here is this week's sketch:

Relay for Life Fundraiser Projects

Here are the projects we'll make at the Relay for Life fundraiser on April 20th.  I sure hope you can join us to benefit this cause that's so important.  You can see more details about the fundraiser here.

We will make four projects - 2 cards, a treat pouch and a corner bookmark.  Two of the projects can be customized.

Participants will be able to select the sentiment for the Wild Wasabi card.  Any stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes will fit in the Word Window punch.  As you can see, there are lots of options:

There are three option for the treat pouch "FRIEND" (shown in top picture), "congrats grad" or "Happy Birthday".  The bottom treat pouch is shown with candy to give you an idea of how to fill it.

Here's the bookmark in a book.  It goes over the corner of your page so that it doesn't fall out.
You can register for the class by e-mailing me or choosing RSVP on my Stampin' Up! website.  Sure hope you can come!
