Dove of Peace

Here's a card using the Dove of Peace stamp. It's lots of fun to color - along the same idea of the adult coloring books that are so popular now. As this color scheme shows, this stamp doesn't have to be just for Christmas.

I embossed the image on vellum, then colored on the back with Stampin' Write markers for a stained glass effect. I used the Curvy Corner Trio punch on the edges of the Marina Mist layer and the Corner Rounder punch on the card base.

Merry Christmas - Noel Banner

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I got this idea for a NOEL banner from Craft Project Central. I didn't have many of the products they used, so I improvised. Here's my version:

I know it's a little hard to see with the brick background. It's hanging from my mantle. Here's a close up of one of the letters:
Each letter is stamped using the Metro Type Alphabet, layered on punched and die cut circles and then mounted on an ornament which is die cut with the Delicate Ornament Framelits. The ornament is layered on a Square Pillow Box made with the Square Pillow Box Thinlit. I used assorted ribbons to attach the Pillow Boxes and hang the garland. I also used gold sequins for a little shine. Each box is attached to the 1 1/4" striped ribbon with a mini clothespin that has Designer Series Paper (DSP) glued on it.

Sleigh Ride Edgelits Card

Here's a card I made with the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle All the Way Stamp Set.

The inside was stamped with a stamp from A Little Something. It's a good set for tags and backgrounds. Merry Christmas is out of the Snow Place stamp set. It's a great set on it's own, but is also available in a bundle with the Snow Friends Framelits .

B.Y.O.P. Gift Card Holder

I made this card last Spring, but never got it posted. Now seemed like a good time since the Bow Builder Punch is half off as part of the Online Extravaganza.

The card stock is folded to make a pocket. Fold down the corners, add some buttons, and add a bow made with the Bow Builder punch and voila -- a jacket. The BYOP is on a one sided  card that slips into the pocket. Attached under the B.Y.O.P. is an envelope made with the Envelope Punch Board. The envelope is the perfect size to slip a gift card into. Then the recipient can B.Y.O.P. - Buy Your Own Present.

Find out more about the Bow Builder punch here.

Remember, place an order through me using hostess code 3GAQG2JF and be entered in the drawing to win a free stamp set. You can also earn an entry by leaving a comment on this blog or liking my facebook page.

Layered Delicate Ornaments

The Delicate Ornaments Framelits from Stampin' Up! are so beautiful! Look how pretty this one cut from Silver Glimmer Paper and then layered on a solid Night of Navy ornament is. The ornament topper is cut from a Gold Foil Sheet.

The base layer is Mellow Moss card stock embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder (retired). The sentiment is from Many Merry Messages (retired). I absolutely love the Real Red 3/8" Satin Woven Ribbon. It just looks so rich to me. And guess what? It's on the Clearance Rack for only $2.79.

You can order online here.  Current hostess code is  46CAQGS9. Or contact me about a group order.

Weekly Deals - November 17 and Retiring List

Blog Post_HM Retiring_Customer_1116_US

Whoa! Lots to announce this week! Stampin' Up! is trying something new and has announced a retiring list for the Holiday Catalog (previously they've only been released for the annual catalogs). See it here.

Online Extravaganza is back! November 23-30 is going to be exciting, but only if you like sales. Who are we kidding? Everyone likes sales, especially when savings up to 50 percent are involved! They are only available while supplies last, so I'll place a group order on the 23rd and you can always order online so you don't miss out (and it ships right to your house). I'll do a group order near the end, too, if needed but some items may be gone by then.

Here are this week's deals which are available while supplies last. I'll place a group order Sunday*. Let me know by 8:00pm Sunday if you'd like anything. You can also order online here.  Current hostess code is  46CAQGS9.

*If the group order is not big enough to cover minimum shipping, the shipping will be divided among participants. If this happens, I will contact you before I place the order to see if you still want to go ahead with it.

Stampin' Medley is almost here!

I  am getting excited about a morning stamping with my friends (and soon to be friends)! We had a great time at stamp club last night and I expect no less from Saturday's event. I hope you  can join us!

Saturday, October 31: Stampin' Medley. A morning of stamping with an assortment of stampin' activities from 9:30am to 1:00pm (or when the last stamper leaves).  Open House style - come and go as fits your schedule.

Please RSVP so I can have enough snacks and projects prepared.

Shoe box projects (available during the whole event): kind of like a stamp-a-stack, but you pick the projects and stamp at your own pace. Single cards $2.00 each or do packs of 3 (of the same card) for $5.00. Includes envelopes, bring your own adhesive. No adhesive? Use mine for $1.00 add-on (regardless of number of cards made).

Cash and carry items available, including card kits, retired items, and more. If you buy a kit, you can stay and make it with the other stampers (others who bought kits and the shoebox stampers).

10:00 to 10:30am Introduction to Stamping. Learn the basics to get started stamping and make a couple projects. Free for new stampers. Stay after to put your new skills to work with shoe box projects or a card kit if you want.

Do one thing or do it all!

Note: Event is in Southern Wake County, NC. I'll send the address, if you need it, when you RSVP.

Junior Legal Pads

A fellow NC Demo, Denise James, generously gave me a covered junior legal pad that she made for a swap. I thought it was really cool, so I decided to make some of my own. Sorry about the photo quality - but if I wait until I get better pictures it could be a while (which is also why there isn't one of Denise's). I figure it's better to share what I have. I made three styles:

The butterfly ones use the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. The butterflies were cut with the retired Beautiful Butterflies die and the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The big butterflies were also embossed. Just because is from And Many More. The background on the leaf one was stamped with Vintage Leaves. The letters are from Larger Than Life Alphabet and cut with the Circles Framelits.

Here's the inside of the flower/butterfly ones. The clips were cut out with my Big Shot and the Project Life Paper Clip Thinlits.
Here's the inside of the leaf one. The saying is from Lighthearted Leaves. The leaf was cut out with my Big Shot and the Leaflets framelits.
This was one of this month's club projects which met this morning and will meet again Tuesday evening. If you're local and would like to make one, contact me by Sunday evening. The class is nearly full, but we can still fit in another.

In Color Leaves

I like the funky, fun leaves in the Lighthearted Leaves set. But even more, I love the sayings -- especially the one that says, "Let Our Hearts Be Full of Both Thanks and Giving." Isn't that great?

We made this card at my club class last week. I used the 2014-16 In Colors.

Supplies:

Stamps: Lighthearted Leaves
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Whisper White
Other: 2014-2016 In Color Designer Washi Tape

Sometimes my customers get their own inspiration and change the cards around to suit their style. I have a young (elementary age) stamper who comes with her grandma on occasion. Here's what she did with her card. Isn't is it cute? Great job Sapphira!

Jingle All The Way

Aren't the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies the neatest thing? I love how they are designed to cut a border and then can be used singly or layered to create custom scenes. And I love that the framelits can be bought in a bundle with the coordinating Jingle All the Way stamp set.

Did you notice these cute projects in the Holiday Catalog?
What a clever idea to use the vellum along the bottom of the photo!

Here's a Stampin' Up! video that shares how to use the framelits.
It gives tips to help you make many of the projects shown above.

Vintage Leaves Card

Here's the third project from my upcoming classes. I used the Vintage Leaves stamp set and Leaflets Framelits, which are available in a bundle.  I just love bundles, don't you?
The sentiment is from the set And Many More. Ribbon is Hello Honey 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon. All items used on this card can be found in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog or online.

Here are all the projects we'll be making at the class Saturday and again on Tuesday. Today is the last day to sign up.

Halloween Bag

I got to play around with the Gift Bag Punch Board this weekend. Whoa, is it cool! I was having so much fun, I'm not even sure how many of them I made. I've only decorated a few so far and this is one of them. We'll be making this bag at my upcoming classes (Saturday, 8/29, and Tuesday, 9/1).
I used the Howl-o-ween Stamp set and Boo to You Framelits, which are available as a bundle in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Ink: Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie
The bag is held closed with a clothespin that has been covered with some Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Here's what the bag looks like open:
Here are all the projects we'll be making at the upcoming classes. Contact me today to reserve your spot.
The Howl-o-ween stamp set and Boo to You framelits will be available when the new Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog goes live on September 1st!

Bow Builder Punch

The little bows from the Bow Builder Punch are so cute! And you can make more than just the standard bow with it. Check out this page I pinned with 15 different types of bows.

Here's a short video that shows you some tips to get a perfect bow.

You can order this and other products online. Current hostess code:

For local customers, I'm placing a group order this evening. Let me know if you'd like to be a part of it.

Hexagon Bird Box

This project uses the Envelope Punch Board, which is on the Weekly Deals this week! Order the punch board from me and I'll send you a tutorial of how to make this box!

I'm really excited about this project because I developed the pattern myself. I got some ideas from different projects, but the the hexagon box and adding the lid came from me. The way it's decorated was also my design. Hope you enjoy it!

Here's a view from the top. It's actually a removable lid so you can use it as decor or as an actual box. How cute would it be to give a gift in this?

I know the eggs probably aren't available this time of year, but you could probably use round candies and no one would complain. I was fortunate enough to get to demonstrate this project to a group of other demonstrators in March. Not sure why it never made it on my blog...maybe so I could post it when the Envelope Punch Board is on sale ;)

See another project and a video about the Envelope Punch Board here. This is also the tool used to make those cute file folder cards you've seen. We made one of those in club one month.

I L-O-V-E the big LOVE stamps in Countless Sayings 1. This set has 2 of them, both in a great font. They can stand alone as a focal point or be used with other stamps from the set to make cute phrases.

I thought with these bright colors that this would make a good anniversary card. But it could also be a "just because" type card to someone you love. Or, perhaps a thank you card for a gift you love.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is retired, but you could use a current DSP - perhaps Bohemian - and coordinating colors.

Just a heads up - this was one of the stamp sets that was released mid-year by Stampin' Up! so I think it's only available while supplies last. I could be wrong about that, but just in case - if you want it, don't wait too long to get it.

Guy Greetings - No One Else Could Fill Your Shoes

I am so happy this set was carried over from the Occasions catalog! I just love it!

Stamps: Guy Greetings
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory (retired), Soft Suede, Garden Green
Ink: Soft Suede
Big Shot: Argyle Embossing Folder (retired - currently on Clearance Rack for only $4.79)

Here's the inside. I know Father's Day is over, but you could switch the sentiment for any masculine event. There's a Happy Birthday and a Congratulations stamp in the set.

Watercolor Shadows and Highlights Technique

Here's another Stampin' Up! video I'd like to share with you. Great information to help you improve your water coloring skills. Enjoy!

This isn't the exact card made in the video, but it uses the same technique and the same stamped image. You may recognize it from the catalog.

TSSC 366 - Giggle Greetings Birthday

Here's my design team sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. I used Giggle Greetings. Those stamps really do make me giggle. Okay, I'd say I'm more of a chuckle person than a giggle person - but you get the idea.
Supplies:
Stamps: Giggle Greetings
Ink:  Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Moonlight DSP (retired, but I have some extra if you want a pack)

In case the picture isn't clear enough to be able to read the sentiment, it says, "age is something that doesn't count unless you're a cheese." This saying is perfect for my family. Cheese and crackers is a nightly snack for much of my extended family.
Here's this week's sketch. Use it to inspire you!
You can link your project and see the rest of the design team samples at the Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge site. Remember, the challenge now goes for two weeks so you've got plenty of time to play along.

Regular readers of my blog and facebook page may be having a sense of deja vu as they see this post. The TSSC challenge recently went from weekly to bi-monthly. Because June had 3 Mondays, there was a little confusion on the dates and this got posted last week. I pulled it and am now posting it on the correct day.
