TSSC 316 - Six Sided Sampler

Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all of the brave service men and women who have risked everything to keep our country safe. And a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you!

Here's my card for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge. My first attempt didn't quite go as planned. Hmmm? Sounds familiar. :) I ended up with a card I liked, but it didn't match the sketch and it wasn't what I meant to do. Not to mention I was pretty darn frustrated with the ribbon pleating. I was not doing it again for my second attempt! I went with a button instead. Maybe I'll share the first card later this week after I have a chance to photograph it.

Supplies:

Stamps: Six Sided Sampler
Cardstock: Whisper White
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Gingham Garden
Ink: Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight

Here's this week's sketch:

Hey There Flip Card

We'll be making this flip card in my classes later this week.  The stamps on the front are from the My Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit.  These cute stamps are only available by subscribing to My Paper Pumpkin (MPP).

Subscribe to MPP by February 10th and you'll get a FREE pack of 2012-14 In Color Markers ($14.95 catalog price) along with your kit.  Everyone who signs up for MPP and chooses me as their demonstrator will be invited to a Paper Pumpkin Party.  We'll assemble the cards and there will even be a bonus card.  Details will be posted soon.  Did I mention the Welcome Kit comes with a size D Acrylic Bock ($8.50)?  This promotion is a great deal!  Sign up for it here.  Remember to choose me as your demonstrator.  Read more about MPP here.

When the card is closed, you see the front message.  The above picture is of the card as it's being opened.  The front is embossed with the Big Shot and the Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The ribbon is Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, which is on sale this week.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the Patterns Paper Stack - Brights.

Below the card is flipped open.  Lots of different sentiments would go with the Hey Friends stamp on the front.  I chose thinking of you from Teeny Tiny Wishes
The lighting isn't as good in this one, but you can see the front circle a little better.  Both stamps are from the MPP Welcome Kit.  The Daffodil Delight piece was die cut using The Circle Framelits.  The stamped piece was cut using Starburst Sayings.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.  If you'd like to make this card, along with a cute 3-d Shamrock with Hershey's Kisses, and this card, you can still sign up for the classes later this week.

I also entered this card in the Late Night Stampers Challenge , which was to use a die or framelit.

Ornament Keepsakes Circle Thinlits Card

Here's a card made with the Christmas Messages stamp set (on sale through tomorrow for only $14.67), Holiday Ornaments Framelits (on sale through tomorrow for only $18.71), Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, and the Circle Card Thinlits Die.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the Paper Patterns Stack (I think Subtles, because the DSP looks like Pear Pizzazz - which is just a guess since I don't have the card here, only the digital photo; either way, the packs are available for all color families).

If I was making this again, I would make the ornament 3-d, like I did on this card.
The Thinlits dies make flip cards - see how the circle "flips" when the card is open?  It makes a unique card with a huge "Wow!" factor.  Believe it or not, this is the same card.  Must be a trick of the lighting that makes the green look so different.
Click here for other projects made with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits.

Although I've used Christmas Messages on tons of cards, apparently I haven't posted any of them yet.  It's a great set!  I especially love the stamp on the circle!

You can order any of the sale items (Holiday Sale, Weekly Deals, and be sure to check back tomorrow for the Cyber Monday Sale) through my Online Store.
