Junior Legal Pads

A fellow NC Demo, Denise James, generously gave me a covered junior legal pad that she made for a swap. I thought it was really cool, so I decided to make some of my own. Sorry about the photo quality - but if I wait until I get better pictures it could be a while (which is also why there isn't one of Denise's). I figure it's better to share what I have. I made three styles:

The butterfly ones use the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. The butterflies were cut with the retired Beautiful Butterflies die and the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The big butterflies were also embossed. Just because is from And Many More. The background on the leaf one was stamped with Vintage Leaves. The letters are from Larger Than Life Alphabet and cut with the Circles Framelits.

Here's the inside of the flower/butterfly ones. The clips were cut out with my Big Shot and the Project Life Paper Clip Thinlits.
Here's the inside of the leaf one. The saying is from Lighthearted Leaves. The leaf was cut out with my Big Shot and the Leaflets framelits.
This was one of this month's club projects which met this morning and will meet again Tuesday evening. If you're local and would like to make one, contact me by Sunday evening. The class is nearly full, but we can still fit in another.

Twitterpated Butterfly (and Free Class winner)

I am having so much fun working with fabric on my cards.  Here's one I made using my Big Shot, Twitterpated fabric, and the Beautiful Butterflies die.  I also used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch on a strip of Blushing Bride card stock (along the left side) and the small polka dot Texturz plate on the smaller Baja Breeze butterfly.  I think the polka dots add a little dimension without being overpowering.

I've had to delay my order until tomorrow, so if you want to come to the Fun With Fabric class there is still time to register.   Make sure to let my know by 11:00am Tuesday, April 17.

Click here to see more cards made with fabric.  And see a keychain made with Twitterpated fabric on the Classes/Events page (we'll be making it at the Fun With Fabric class).

CONGRATULATIONS!   The winner of the free class (value up to $10, not valid on product based classes) is...Karen W.  Congratulations Karen!  Karen got several entries when she hosted a party.  If you'd like to host a party, let me know.  I give away a free stamp set if you have 8 or more guests.  Karen got a free stamp set at her party, too.

Elements of Style Butterfly Card

I saw this card by carddiva on Splitcoast and had to try it.  It uses the Stampin' Up set Elements of Style from the new mini catalog.  Buy this set, or one of several other select sets, during May and get a free package of designer brads.  It also uses the Bigz die Beautiful Butterflies.

Butterfly Hinge Card

Here's how I finished off the butterfly hinge card.  You can see the original a few posts back.  Funny thing, my club ended up split on how they wanted to make their card.  Half did it the original way (the bottom had a tone on tone background stamped with Sprinkles); the other half did it like this with the Sweet Pea DSP.

You can see on the right how the card opens.  I still haven't put the message inside, but I think the one on the card below is perfect.  It's from Hope Happens, which is full of great sayings.

This is a quick card made using the Beautiful Butterflies die and sponged around the edges.  The butterfly body is made by tying hemp twine around it.  Like I said, I love the saying.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Sue

P.S.  Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday.  It was just a crazy day :)
