I enjoy working with vellum and thought I'd share a card I made with it.  I embossed the vellum with the Flower Garden Embossing Folder and my Big Shot.   Then I used sponge daubers to sponge on the backside of the vellum.  This highlights the raised embossed image by leaving it white.  I attached the vellum to a Whisper White card base (which looks even better in person, by the way).

I stamped images from the Reason to Smile set, cut them out, and attached them on top of the vellum.  The flowers go great together.  If you missed out on getting the Reason to Smile set, let me know and I can get you one.

So, how about it?  Get some vellum card stock (101856) and give it a try.  You can get it and any other Stampin' Up supplies you need in my online store.  Prefer the personal touch?  Contact me and I'll be happy to handle the order for you.

P.S. If  you are participating in the Treasure Hunt, the list has been updated.  It won't be long until there are 50 sites to visit!

Flower Garden Embossing Folder with Four Frames

This card is similar to one I posted back in May.  To show you how versatile this layout can be, I used different ribbon and different stamps (Four Frames and Teeny Tiny Wishes).  The ribbon has retired, but you could use 5/8" satin ribbon in its place.

Flower Garden Embossing Folder in Frame

I ran Calypso Coral and Island Indigo through the Big Shot using the Oval Scallop Frame die.  The Calypso Coral oval was then embossed with the Flower Garden Embossing Folder.  The Whisper White background was embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  I attached the Calypso Coral oval inside the Island Indigo scallop frame and tied Whisper White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around it.  Then I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach it to the card base.  I used Stampin' Pastels to add a little color to the raised flowers.  It's kind of subtle, but I like the effect.

Flower Garden Embossing Folder

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there!  I myself am very blessed to have a wonderful mother and to be the mother of two fantastic kids!

I have three different cards to show you today.  Each uses the Flower Garden Embossing Folder.  I used the Melon Mambo embossing powder for the thank you on the top two cards.  It just made the words pop a little more.  The thank you doesn't show up as much on the Bermuda Bay in the photo of the top card, but it does in real life (thanks to the embossing powder).

In case you're wondering why they are all thank yous, it's because they are going to a local cancer center. The patients can use these cards to thank people who have helped them during their battle against cancer. If you are local to the Raleigh/Garner NC area, please join us Tuesday night to make cards for this great cause. If you aren't local, you can still participate by sending donations to help fill our basket.  Contact me (see header for e-mail) to get directions to my church to make cards on May 10 or to get the address to mail donations (cards, supplies or money to buy supplies).  This will be an ongoing project, so even if  you see this after May 10, contact me if you'd like to be a part of it.

We are making these cards as part of Project Give Thanks, which was started recently by cancer survivor Sonja Knaisch.  Her blog is here:  http://projectgivethanks.wordpress.com/home/

The thank you in the top two cards is from Because I Care.  The bottom one is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
