NC SU Demos Occasions and In Color Blog Hop

Welcome to the second NC SU Demos Blog Hop! Follow through the blogs to see lots of great ideas featuring products from the Occasions catalog and the outgoing In Colors. Once you see the great projects in this blog hop, you'll probably want to get some supplies to make your own. If you are already my customer or don't already have a demonstrator, please go here to order online. Use hostess code 3YZWXVTS and get a free thank you gift from me - plus a free Sale-a-Bration item if your order is over $50.

I fell in love with this Designer Series Paper (DSP) the first time I saw it. Since it uses the retiring In Color Blackberry Bliss (which I also love), I chose to use it for today's projects. This type of card is called a Joy Fold card. Scroll down for supplies used, other views, and another card using the same supplies.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Very Vanilla, Pacific Point (though I just noticed the DSP uses Island Indigo, so you may want to use that instead), Delightful Dijon
Designer Series Paper: Bohemian DSP
Stamps: Number of Years, Party with Cake (inside)
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda Bay
Big Shot: Large Numbers Framelits

The little diamond in the corner helps hold the card closed. Only put Stampin' Dimensionals on one half so that the front of the card can tuck under the other half. Here it is untucked.
Here's what it looks like with the first flap unfolded.
Here's the card all the way open. The diamond on the inside panel is cut out from the DSP.
And here's a view from the top so you can see how it all goes together.
Here's another card I made using some of the same supplies. I like it because I think it's appropriate for a male or a female and sometimes it's harder for me to come up with masculine cards. Though I must say, Stampin' Up! has seemed to have more manly stamps recently.
Another great tip - this DSP coordinates nicely with the Boho Chic embossing folder. That's it for my projects. Thanks for stopping by. Head on over to the blog of Pam Staples to see another great project.

The Joy Fold is a fun one, and you had a great idea to add the diamond embellishment to the design. I'll have to remember this!

Love your cards. I always forget that I can clip images from DSP. Love that!

lovely cards and I love those colors. I have a pack of this DSP and haven't even cracked it open! I love that little detail where you cut out one of the diamonds - you clever thing!

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. Ariel, I have to confess...I've had this DSP since the catalog came out and just opened it myself. Sometimes it's really hard to make that first cut!
