Cheers to the Season Treat Holder

Here's a treat holder we made in one of my classes. We used the Cheers to the Season stamp set and Deckled Circles Dies. These are cute to give to friends or family when you see them this Fall or can be used as a place card at Thanksgiving dinner. You can either write the names in the upper right near the top of the leaf or not write names and just have them as a decoration at each place.

Cardstock Measurements:

Basic White: 3" x 3"

Fall Color of your choice: 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" for deckled circle and 5 1/4" x 2 1/2" for the back piece

Directions:

Stamp the leaf on the piece of Basic White and then die cut. Adhere it to the larger fall colored deckled circle.

Score the 5 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece along the long side at 2", 3 1/2", and 4 3/4".

Fold each score line in the same direction and use a bone folder on all of the score lines.

Fold the piece in so it makes a triangle that meets halfway up the 2" side. Use a strong adhesive* such as the Multipurpose Liquid Glue (AKA green capped glue as we call it in my classes) or Tear & Tape on the 1/2" side which tucks under and adheres at the 1" mark (halfway up the 2" side) to make a triangle. This is where you tuck the candy once the project is done.

Adhere the 2" side to the back of the large deckled circle. The piece should fit exactly on the back of your circle. You may have to rotate the deckle a little since some of the edge sticks out more than others. The piece will lean back at an angle.

View from the back:

Tuck the candy into the triangle. I used a mini Hershey's candy bar. A little of the wrapper hung out over the edge on each end, so I tucked those under and used a tiny bit of celeophane tape to hold the ends down they didn't stick out past the deckle circle. I folded the tape in a loop so that it would then also help hold the bar in the triangle. Alternatively, you can fit 3 Hershey's kisses in it.

I hope you enjoyed this project. While I'm a big fan of CASE-ing (Copy and Share Everything), it's kind of fun sometimes to figure out a project from scratch, which is what I did with this one.

*If you don't have one of the adhesives I suggested, try Stampin' Seal+. I recommend the other 2 adhesives for 3d projects, but since there isn't a lot of stress on this piece, the Stampin' Seal+ is your best substitute in a pinch. You'll want to get one or both of the other ones for future projects though.
