Win Patterned Pines!! (and/or $25 free SU!)

Hi Stampers!  Any purchase during November gets you the opportunity to win the adorable, retired set, Patterned Pines.  Yes, today is the last day!  In case you don't know what that set is, here's the Index Card and description from Splitcoast Stampers:

"This is a set of 4 stamps that is available as a hostess level 1 set in the 2009 Holiday SU! mini catalog.

The stamps consists of 4 solid images:
a small star
a corner flourish with a poinsettia flower
3 patterned trees
a snowflake

In this sample the trees don't exactly line up because I cut my 3 trees apart to make 3 stamps instead of keeping them together to make one stamp (and I was too lazy to use my stamp-a-ma-jig tool)."

Splitcoast Stampers is an awesome resource for seeing projects made with Stampin' Up! products.  They have a gallery for each stamp set!  Plus, you can use the search button to search on other items (such as Big Shot dies).  See more items made with Patterned Pine here.

Go to the SU Gallery to choose other stamp sets for which to see samples.  You just select the sub-gallery that includes the letter your stamp set starts with.

Each $15 in your order during November gets you an entry for this cute set!

Plus, each $25 in an order that uses Hostess code BZAYHD2Y gets you an entry to win $25 in free merchandise (just pay shipping and tax).  Ends at 10:00pm (Eastern) on Dec. 2nd!

Joyful Christmas Cards

Do your Black Friday shopping all weekend from home!  Holiday Sale and current Weekly Deals go through Monday, Dec. 2nd!

Holiday Sale items in this post:  Joyful Christmas, Core'dinations cardstock, and Gold Ink (in a bundle with Silver Ink)

Your order could win you $25 in free merchandise or the retired stamp set, Patterned Pines!  Details here.

Order online here.  Use Hostess Code BZAYHD2Y

The poinsettia from Joyful Christmas was stamped onto Real Red cardstock and cut out.  The center dots were colored with the Signo White Gel Pen.  The background is Gumball Green Core'dinations cardstock that has been embossed with the Pretty Prints embossing folder and the Big Shot.  I used a sanding block to sand the Core'dinations which revealed the lighter inner core.  The sentiment is from More Merry Messages.

The second card uses the same stamp from Joyful Messages, but it was stamped directly onto the Real Red background in gold ink.  The Happy Birthday was also stamped in gold ink, though I can't remember the set right now (it's retired).
Please contact me if you need assistance with an order or have any stamping needs.

Best of Autumn Sampler - Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'm taking a break from highlighting sale items so I can wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving (though it turns out there is one sale item featured below - the gold ink).  While I'm counting my blessings today, I want each of  you to know that I am very thankful for all of my customers and for everyone who follows me on my blog and on my Facebook page.

Here are several cards made with the Best of Autumn set.

The leaves were stamped with the gold ink. The brackets were made with the Curly Label Punch.  The idea to stamp the leaves in gold on four squares came from a blog called Inspiration Ink.  I came up with the idea for the brackets myself, though I wouldn't be surprised to find out someone else has done it, too.

I love making cards with leaves in various Fall colors.  The labels were made with the Curly Label Punch and the Petite Curly Label Punch.
I actually saw the idea for the next two cards on another blog (Stamp and Scrap With Frenchie).  The square was made by inking an acrylic block and stamping with it.  On the first one, I cut out the leaf and used Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere it on the green square.
On this one I stamped the leaf directly on the green square.
This last picture isn't a card, but I still want to share the idea with you.  Look how beautiful this leaf looks stamped with gold and then mounted on gold foil.  The gold foil sheets from the Holiday Catalog really make the image pop.
I hope you've enjoyed all of these cards and I hope that you all have a very happy Thanksgiving.

Circle Christmas Tree (Glimmer Paper)

Holiday Sale Item:  Silver Glimmer Paper (only $3.47 during the sale).

This card was prepped by my friend Karen W.  I made it when she hosted a Shoebox Swap at her house.  Isn't it cute?

Here is a close-up at an angle so you can really see the sparkle.
Stampin' Up! also sells the Red Glimmer Paper.  It's not on sale, but it only $4.95.

For those of you who don't know what a Shoebox Swap is - it's when each person brings all of the supplies for everyone to make one project.  At the event, everyone gets a chance to make the project brought by everyone else.  So, if there are 5 people at the Swap, everyone gets to make 5 different projects.   They are lots of fun - because you get to stamp with your friends, because you get to make projects that you didn't have to think of, and because sometimes you get to use stamps or supplies that you don't own yourself.

Floral Frames Wreaths (plus Weekly Deals 11/26-12/2)

The Floral Frames Framelits are more versatile than you might originally think.  They make beautiful flowers and with 5 different framelits in the set, you can make a wide variety.  But there is so much more you can do with them.

When I saw these framelits on the Weekly Deals list, it was just the motivation I needed to make these wreath cards.  This is the third one I made, but I'm sure it won't be the last.

I like how the double layer makes it look more full.  The "berries" were made with the Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details that are on sale as part of the Holiday Sale.  The design on the wreaths were stamped with Daydream Medallions

The card base is Crumb Cake that has been embossed with the Big Shot and the Woodgrain Embossing Folder to look like a door.  The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler 1" Grosgrain Stitched Edge Ribbon.  Merry Christmas is from Petite Pairs, which is full of great messages.

Here's another wreath card I made.  Many of the supplies are the same.  But on this card Merry Christmas was stamped on Naturals Ivory cardstock and then cut out with one of the Bitty Banners Framelits.  The background is Cherry Cobbler mounted on a Naturals Ivory base.

Here's the inside of one of the cards.  I used the cutout from the front wreath to make a little wreath for the inside.  I used the 1/2" circle punch to cut out the center of the wreath.  The message is the matching sentiment for Merry Christmas from Petite Pairs.
 Here's the first wreath card I made.  It's 4 1/4" square.  I like it's simplicity.
I hope these wreath cards have given you some inspiration.  The Floral Frames Framelits and many other great items can be found on the Weekly Deals list.  And don't forget that there are lots and lots of wonderful Stampin' Up! items on sale as part of the Holiday Sale.  Both sales end December 2nd.

TSSC 290 Oh, Hello - Soho Subway

Holiday Sale alert:
Items on this card that are on sale - Soho Subway DSP (130140, $7.67), Neutrals Core'dinations cardstock (129956, $16.77 - other colors on sale, too).  Plus, it's sized to fit in the Crumb Cake Note Card Envelopes  (131528, $3.85) that are on sale (shown below).

Here is this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge card:

The flower is from Oh, Hello.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Soho Subway.  The background is Early Espresso Core'dinations which has been sanded with a Stampin' Sanding Block.

Here is the sketch:
Sketch 290 - due November 24 | Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Team
And here is the envelope.  It holds a 3.5" x 5" card, which is a great size.  Sometimes you just want to write a quick note to someone and you don't have enough to say to fill a standard sized card.  I know - if you read my posts regularly, you're probably thinking I always have a lot to say (lol).  Besides, sometimes it's just fun to design for a different size and ratio.

I stamped the Chevron image from Oh, Hello in the corner.  I think stamping the envelope makes a nice surprise when the recipient pulls the card from the mailbox.

Don't forget to head on over to the TSSC site to see the rest of the design team samples and to link your entry.  You are going to play along this week, right?

Wonderful Blessing

Holiday Sale items:  Wonderful Blessing, Core'dinations Cardstock, and Circle Framelits.  My Circle Framelits have not gotten here yet, so I had to cut this out by hand.  The framelits set has a circle that is just the right size for this stamp, so not only would it save a lot of time to use it, the circle would look better.

The ribbon is Cherry Cobbler 1" Grosgrain Stitched Edge Ribbon.  I'm not sure if you can see the texture on the Night of Navy square, but the Core'dinations cardstock has a slight texture to it.  If you don't sand it, it looks very similar to the textured cardstock Stampin' Up! used to sell.

I think this stamp is so pretty.  I'm looking forward to making a bunch more cards with it once my Circle Framelits arrive.  You can see another card I made with this stamp here.

Stamp Club - Telescoping Snowman

I'm blessed to have two wonderful Stamp Club groups.  One met Tuesday evening and the other met yesterday.  One of the projects we made was a telescoping snowman.

During the Holiday Sale (11/20-12/2, 2013) the Circle Framelits (130911) are 25% off!! Now only $20.21!  Obviously they were a huge help (pretty much necessary) with this project.

Look how cute this snowman head is:

But check this out - it opens up to make a full snowman!  And, with the Baker's Twine at the top, the recipient can hang it as a decoration or an ornament.

Some people put a Christmas message on the front, but most added another white circle to the back of the Night of Navy (bottom) circle and put their message there.  Someone even suggested using a to/from stamp and making a super cute gift tag.  The other circles are Soft Sky and Marina Mist.  There are 10 circles in the Circles Framelits collection (if I counted right), so you can make snowmen in lots of different sizes.

The eyes, mouth and buttons are Basic Black cardstock that was embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and then punched with the circle parts of the Owl Punch.  The embossing was to give the "coal" some texture.  The nose was cut freehand from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  I added a few lines with a Pumpkin Pie marker to make it look more like a carrot.

I'm not sure how well you can see it in the pictures, but we spritzed the Whisper White circles to make them sparkly.  To make the spray we used:  fill a Stampin' Spritzer with rubbing alcohol and Frost White Shimmer Paint.  Be sure to shake well before using!

These are the Wednesday stamp club ladies having fun working on their projects.  They are actually working on a different card that I will post after the Holiday Sale is over.  We have lots of fun in this group (and in the other one) and would love to have you join us!

TSSC 289 Simply Pressed Clay Flower

Before I get into today's post, I want to say sorry about my reduced posting lately.  I should be back on track now.

Here's my sample for this week's Techno Stamper Sketch Challenge:
Wondering where I got that flower?  I know, the title kind of gave it away (lol).  It was made with Simply Pressed Clay.  But instead of using one of the molds, I made a ball, flattened it a little, and then used the flower from my Occasions Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps (available on the Clearance Rack).  It was really easy to use my scissors to trim the excess from around the flower.

You can't see it in the picture, but the flower and the words are both shimmery.  I love this look.  For the flower, I mixed rubbing alcohol, a few drops of Real Red re-inker, and some Frost White Shimmer Paint in a Stampin' Spritzer and then spritzed the flower.  Be sure to shake well before using!  For the words, I inked the stamp in Real Red and then used a Sponge Dauber to gently add some Frost White Shimmer Paint.  A light hand is important so that the words stay crisp.

The background is Bermuda Bay cardstock that has been embossed using the Big Shot and the Argyle Embossing Folder.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Eastern Elegance.  The stamp is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Here is the TSSC sketch for this week:

Baby Prints Feet

I know it doesn't seem like it, but believe it or not, some people still wait until the birth to find out whether they are having a boy or a girl.  My husband and I did, both times.  And yes, even though I seem really old to my kids, 19 years ago, when I was pregnant with my first, that technology was available (lol).
At times when you don't know the sex of the baby, green and yellow are always a safe choices.  In this case, Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron.

The stamps are from Baby Prints and Petite Pairs.
